Job Description

Job Title Project Manager II Automation & Systems Department Engineering / Operations Position Summary The Automation & Systems staff member serves as the primary bridge between business operations and IT, responsible for evaluating, implementing, and optimizing software solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality across the organization. This role owns the administration and evolution of QuickBase and the Workload Management System, while leading the identification and deployment of AI?driven efficiencies into existing workflows. This position requires a strong blend of technical aptitude, business process understanding, and stakeholder management, with a focus on practical automation technology. Key Responsibilities Software & Systems Ownership Serve as the business owner and primary liaison with IT for enterprise software tools and platforms Lead the evaluation, vetting, and implementation of new software solutions aligned with operational needs Translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional designs Manage, integrations, upgrades, and system roadmaps QuickBase Administration & Development Own configuration, governance, and ongoing enhancement of QuickBase applications Design and maintain scalable data models, workflows, dashboards, and reporting Ensure data integrity, security, and role?based access controls Partner with business leaders to continuously improve how QuickBase supports engineering, operations, accounting, and reporting Workload Management System (Currently QuickBase) Administer and enhance the Workload Management System to improve planning, visibility, and capacity alignment Establish consistent workflows and data inputs to enhance forecasting, staffing, and operational decision-making. Develop dashboards and analytics to support leadership decision?making Support migrations to any new platforms AI & Automation Enablement Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to existing workflows (e.g., data processing, reporting, forecasting, document handling) Pilot, vet, and implement AI solutions that deliver measurable productivity or quality improvements Ensure AI adoption aligns with data governance, security, and compliance standards Partner with IT and leadership to establish best practices for responsible AI use Process Improvement & Governance Document current?state and future?state workflows Drive standardization and simplification of business processes enabled by technology Establish governance for system changes, enhancements, and user requests Train end users and develop job aids, documentation, and best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in business systems management, software implementation, or digital operations Hands?on experience administering and configuring QuickBase (or comparable low?code platforms) Experience managing or supporting workload, resource, or project management systems Strong ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Experience working cross?functionally with IT, operations, engineering, and leadership Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing AI?based tools or automation (e.g., workflow automation, decision support, analytics augmentation) Familiarity with integrations, APIs, and data flows between enterprise systems Telecom, engineering, construction, or utility industry experience Strong data analytics and dashboarding skills Change management and user adoption experience Key Competencies Business process thinking with a technology?first mindset Pragmatic approach to automation and AI (value?focused, not experimental) Effective communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non?technical stakeholders Highly organized, detail?oriented, and accountable Continuous improvement mindset #daveng
