• In this pivotal role, you will identify new business opportunities and collaborate with commercial teams to co-create strategic business plans that capitalize on emerging market trends and technologies.

You will gather, analyze, and interpret competitive intelligence to monitor the organization's market share and assess competitor behavior, including marketing strategies, pricing, and sales methods. Your research into market conditions and customer perceptions through polling and interviews will inform product development and marketing strategies. Additionally, you will evaluate purchasing behaviors, price sensitivity, and brand loyalty across different segments and channels, simulating the impact of proposed marketing campaigns and measuring results against targets to optimize business performance.

• YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Market Data Ownership & "Single Source of Truth"
• + Own and maintain comprehensive market value estimates across all relevant vegetable market segments for the Americas region, ensuring consistency, credibility, and transparency; + Lead the annual market data collection, validation, and review process in collaboration with Commercial teams, including defining timelines, expectations, KPIs, and governance; + Maintain approximately 3,200 internal market records across Salesforce and downstream systems, ensuring data integrity and alignment across tools; •Analytics, Tools & Systems•+ Design, deploy, and continuously improve dashboards, analytical reports, and performance metrics that support trend tracking, forecasting, and strategic decision making.

+ Identify evolving business intelligence needs and develop reporting solutions that disseminate insights in a timely, accessible, and actionable manner. + Co‑lead with Global MI the strategic design, governance, and ongoing enhancement of global business intelligence applications and platforms, ensuring adoption and effective use. + Partner in the development and loading of long‑term (10‑year horizon) market data into Optimas and related strategic planning tools.

• Decision Support & Business Partnership
• + Drive fact‑based decision making by delivering clear, actionable market and customer insights to support Americas commercial strategies, portfolio decisions, and growth initiatives.

+ Partner closely with Regional Marketing, Market Development, and Sales leadership to ensure insights are relevant, timely, and aligned to business needs. + Serve as a trusted thought partner to Americas Marketing Managers by sharing emerging trends and implications for crop and category strategies. + Lead or participate in revenue‑building and growth projects that support the expansion of the Americas Vegetable Seed business.

• Strategic Market & Competitive Intelligence
• + Lead the research, analysis, and interpretation of market, customer, and competitive intelligence to strengthen the company's competitive advantage across the Americas.

+ Monitor competitive behavior, including portfolio strategies, pricing dynamics, go‑to‑market models, and sales approaches, and assess implications for Bayer's commercial and crop strategies. + Track and interpret key agricultural and vegetable market trends (acreage estimates and forecasts, grower economics, trade flows, retail and consumption trends) to inform regional budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term strategic planning. + Conduct gap analyses to identify threats, opportunities, and whitespace across crops, regions, and channels.

• External Data & Industry Engagement
• + Secure, evaluate, and manage external market and industry data sources (e.

g., USDA, Nielsen/Circana, IFPA, Hort Innovation, ERS) to ensure relevance, quality, and fit for bus needs. + Lead annual external data reporting and submission processes and integrate insights into internal analytics and planning frameworks. + Actively participate in external vegetable and produce industry organizations and forums, assessing new data sources and best practices for potential application. + Maintain strong relationships with external data providers and approximately 35 vegetable channel and industry partners.

• Global & Cross‑Regional Collaboration
• + Provide multi‑regional support (North America and ANZ) and targeted global analytical and systems support as needed. + Drive alignment with Global Market & Commercial Intelligence teams on data sources, methodologies, and insights management. + Share and scale best practices across global teams to improve insight consistency and impact.
• Enablement & Customer Service
• + Provide high‑quality customer service to internal stakeholders by responding to market research and intelligence requests that support business growth. + Design market research proposals tailored to regional or country‑specific business needs. + Train users on relevant market intelligence processes, tools, and systems to improve data literacy and adoption.

• WHO YOU ARE

• Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: + BA/BS Degree in Economics, Marketing, Ag, or Science; + Minimum 6 years of experience in relevant Business Analytics, Marketing/Sales operations, Data management, Metric/KPI development/maintenance; + Proficient at developing visualizations and KPIs; + Ability to work cross-functionally with Commercial, R D, Supply chain to share information and learn market dynamics; + Strong capability to originate market intelligence through proprietary research, hypothesis testing, and economic analysis, particularly in situations with limited existing data; + Able to convey clear and crisp messages and set priorities, resilience, able to travel, optimism.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $105,120.00 - $157,680.00 Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
