Director of Marketing Hinds Behavioral Health Services - 3.4 Jackson, MS Job Details Full-time 23 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Full Job Description Position Summary The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive marketing, public relations, branding, and community engagement strategies that increase awareness of the organization, promote services, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support organizational growth. This position oversees all internal and external communications, digital marketing initiatives, media relations, special events, and community outreach efforts while ensuring alignment with the agency's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Marketing & Brand Management Develop and implement an annual marketing and communications plan aligned with organizational goals. Maintain and enhance the organization's brand identity, messaging, and public image. Identify opportunities to increase visibility, community engagement, and service utilization. Conduct market research and analyze trends to inform marketing strategies. Monitor and evaluate marketing campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements. Communications & Public Relations Serve as the primary liaison for media inquiries and public communications. Develop press releases, newsletters, annual reports, and promotional materials. Coordinate public announcements, agency events, and community engagement activities. Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, government officials, and media outlets. Manage crisis communication efforts when necessary. Digital Marketing & Social Media Oversee the organization's website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging. Develop and manage social media strategies across multiple platforms. Create digital campaigns to increase awareness of agency programs and services. Monitor website analytics and social media metrics to measure engagement and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding online communications. Community Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement Develop outreach initiatives that promote agency services and programs. Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and public events. Establish partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, businesses, and government agencies. Coordinate educational campaigns and awareness initiatives. Event Planning & Promotion Plan and coordinate agency-sponsored events, conferences, fundraisers, and public awareness campaigns. Develop promotional strategies to maximize attendance and engagement. Coordinate event logistics, sponsorship opportunities, and marketing materials. Leadership & Administration Supervise marketing and communications staff, interns, contractors, and volunteers as assigned. Develop departmental goals, objectives, and performance measures. Prepare and manage the marketing budget. Oversee contracts and relationships with marketing vendors, advertising agencies, and media partners. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, boards, and stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Journalism, or a related field required. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related fields. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience preferred. Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, government, or community-based organizations preferred. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Experience with grant-funded programs and public sector marketing initiatives. Experience managing media relations and crisis communications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and strategic planning skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of branding, marketing principles, and public relations practices. Ability to develop and manage comprehensive marketing campaigns. Proficiency in website management, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to analyze marketing data and prepare performance reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of graphic design and content creation platforms preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Frequent interaction with community partners, stakeholders, and the public. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Local and regional travel may be required. Performance Measures The Director of Marketing will be evaluated based on: Growth in community awareness and engagement. Effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Social media and website engagement metrics. Media coverage and public relations outcomes. Community partnership development. Timely completion of marketing initiatives and projects.
