Role Description The Marketing and Development Specialist is a creative storyteller who brings our mission to life through compelling content and meaningful donor engagement. This role blends marketing, communications, and fundraising strategy to grow awareness, deepen community connections, and increase philanthropic support. Working closely with the Development Director and a passionate team of music therapists and instructors, this person will lead day-to-day communications while playing a key role in shaping and executing fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate is both imaginative and organized. Someone who can generate fresh ideas and also follow through to execution and results. Specific Duties Creative Communications & Storytelling With oversight from the Development Director (DD), lead the creation and execution of a cohesive communications strategy aligned with organizational goals Oversee digital marketing media, including website, social media, and monthly newsletter Gather photos and videos to produce engaging media pieces (either yourself or coordinating with other staff or professional photographers/videographers) Work with the DD and PR consultant to develop stories and media opportunities Leverage special events and activities to better tell the story of NMTS Represent the organization at outreach events and public speaking opportunities Promote NMTS programs, classes, and events to increase participation Fundraising & Donor Engagement Duties Partner with the DD to plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and social media initiatives Take an active role in donor stewardship through storytelling, personalized communications, events, and impact reporting Create donor-facing materials including appeals, newsletters, and annual reports Work with DD to grow individual giving, corporate partnerships, and sponsorships Track and analyze campaign performance and engagement metrics Maintain accurate donor records and support database management through timely database entry Events & Community Engagement Duties Collaborate on the planning and execution of fundraising events with a focus on both revenue and experience Develop event messaging, promotional strategies, and sponsorship materials Attend and support events, capturing content and engaging with attendees Represent the organization at outreach events, presentations, and community partnerships Program Integration Work closely with music therapists and instructors to document and share program impact Attend classes and events to gather authentic content and build relationships with participants Serve as an ambassador for the organization across arts, healthcare, and disability communities Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., journalism, marketing, communications, business) 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or fundraising (nonprofit experience preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and video editing software Attention to detail and accuracy in written communication - strong editing skills Experience in social media management: , Instagram, YouTube, Experience in website management Experience creating high quality videos and graphics

$48,000
