Marketing-Public Relations-Community Outreach Director, a mid- to senior-level professional, for the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania works as a champion toward furthering the mission of the BBB across the Western Pennsylvania territory. This position serves as the regional face of the BBB, blending strategic marketing, media relations, and high-impact community outreach to drive brand awareness, support membership retention, and maintain a consistent, positive public image. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The core duties of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: Public Relations & Media Engagement:
Represents the BBB through proactive media outreach, television/radio appearances and interviews, speaking engagements, and public events while meticulously tracking impact metrics. Serves as the primary liaison with outside promotional and advertising agencies. Community Outreach & Partnerships:
Fosters and maintains strategic partnerships with local consumer groups, business associations, and civic organizations. Promotes and executes signature BBB programs, including the Speakers Bureau and the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics. Marketing Strategy & Brand Integrity:
Collaborates with executive management to establish strategic marketing plans and budgets. Ensures all brand messaging, product lines, and promotional materials remain timely, relevant, and strictly aligned with the master BBB brand image. Content Development & Copywriting:
Oversees, produces, and edits high-quality copy for digital and print channels, including newsletters, email marketing (e-blasts), press releases, website updates, social media, etc. Regional Growth & Retention Support:
Conducts regular travel and targeted outreach to a variety of demographics and markets within the Western PA service territory (28-counties) to support membership retention, consumer education, and build localized trust. Focus areas include:
Seniors, Veterans, Youth, Community gatherings and/or any identified at risk-populations. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities, if a department team is established (intern or hires), for the communications team in accordance with organizational policies. Responsibilities include training employees, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving problems. Pay:
