Social Media and Marketing Manager 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 121 North Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 $25 an hour - Part-time Heritage Church 18 reviews $25 an hour - Part-time We're looking for a creative, faith-filled individual to own our Sunday social media presence. This role is the eyes and ears of our church on Facebook every Sunday — capturing authentic moments, posting in real time, and helping our community grow online and in person. This is a great fit for someone who loves people, tells stories through their phone camera, and wants to use their gifts to serve the church.
WHAT YOU'LL DO ON SUNDAYS
Arrive 30-45 minutes before service to capture setup, worship team rehearsal, and pre-service energy Live-post during service: worship moments, message highlights, crowd energy Film and edit short Reels (60-90 seconds) to post same-day Photograph candid moments — people connecting, worshipping, smiling Post 2-3 times throughout the morning across service windows Respond to comments and DMs during and immediately after service Capture a Sunday recap or "missed it" post before leaving
WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES
(REMOTE) Schedule Monday's post using content captured Sunday Pull best moments and prep assets for Wednesday and Friday posts Review Facebook Insights weekly and flag what's performing well Collaborate with pastor or ministry team on upcoming series or events
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Passion for the church's mission and genuine love for people Comfortable operating a smartphone camera and basic video editing apps (CapCut, Reels editor, etc.) Strong written voice — casual, warm, and on-brand Self-starter who can work independently without heavy direction Active Facebook user who understands how the platform works Experience with Canva, scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite), or photography
NICE TO HAVE
Prior social media experience (personal or professional) Photography or videography background Familiar with our church community already Experience growing an audience or running a social account
TIME COMMITMENT
Sunday On-Site Approx. 3-4 hours (including pre/post service) Remote Weekly 1-2 hours (scheduling, editing, insights review) Total Per Week ~4-6 hours Additional Monthly check-in with leadership team (30 min)
COMPENSATION
Compensation is negotiable based on experience. We offer a Sunday stipend or hourly rate, and this role can grow alongside the ministry.
