REPORTS TO CEO ABOUT HAPPENSTANCE
Happenstance is a Nashville-born bourbon brand built on the idea that the best moments in life aren't planned. They happen by chance. We're a young, fast-moving spirits company growing quickly across markets, and we're building a team that can match the pace.
THE ROLE
This is a creative builder's seat. You'll architect the Happenstance brand from the inside out, orchestrating headline-grabbing collaborations with top-tier media talent, shaping the cultural moments that put us in the conversation, and owning brand strategy from first whiteboard to final invoice. You'll report to the CEO, but the cadence is yours. You set the milestones, you hold yourself accountable, and you deliver results that move the needle for a brand built to grow fast.
WHAT YOU'LL DRIVE
Land and execute marquee collaborations with top-tier media talent, celebrities, and culture-shapers, owning everything from initial outreach to campaigns, creative direction to launch. Design and lead 360 brand campaigns spanning trade, digital, retail, e-commerce, and earned media. Own brand consistency, voice, and visual identity across every consumer and trade touchpoint. Build and manage the marketing budget. Make sharp, ROI-minded spend decisions and report up with clarity. Direct external partners including creative agencies, designers, photographers, content creators, and PR, and hold them to a high bar in alignment with our brand vision & standards. Run the social calendar (Instagram-led): draft copy, publish content daily, and grow the Happenstance community across LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other digital & emerging platforms. Manage the website and drive e-commerce and newsletter funnels for direct customer acquisition, retention, and revenue. Plan and execute brand events including pop-ups, distributor functions, influencer activations, and non-profit partnerships that put Happenstance in front of the right rooms. Partner closely with Sales to translate marketing into market through trade programs, account-level activation, and lead gen that closes. Pitch press, manage influencer relationships, and develop 360 launch campaigns for new products, market expansions, and partnership reveals. Build the reporting rhythm with regular reads on social, campaigns, and consumer data, then adapt fast. Communicate brand vision, voice and standards to third-party vendors, team members and distributors to ensure brand consistency across all channels & touchpoints
WHAT YOU BRING A CPG
brand-building background. You've helped take a consumer brand from emerging to established and you understand what moves the needle at scale. Proven access to top-tier talent. Either a rolodex of media talent, celebrities, and tastemakers, or the pitching chops to build one fast, plus the negotiation skill to land marquee collaborations. Self-direction at the highest level. You set your own milestones, you hit them, and no one has to chase you. 7 to 10 years of marketing experience, with 7 to 10 years specifically driving social and digital strategy. Spirits or beverage a strong plus, not a requirement. A storyteller's instinct paired with a builder's discipline. You can hold a brand world in your head and a P&L on the same page. Adobe Suite proficiency (Lightroom, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); fluency is a plus, not required. Graphic design experience welcome. Sharp written communication and an editor's eye for detail, grammar, and brand tone. A bias for urgency and a builder's tolerance for ambiguity. This brand is moving, and you're the one keeping it moving.
THE FINE PRINT
Must be 21+ at the time of application. Must comply with all state and federal liquor laws. Nashville-based preferred. Some weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
