Because it matters! Director of Marketing & Proposal Delivery McMillen, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Director of Marketing & Proposal Delivery with a minimum of 15 years' experience. The Director of Marketing & Proposal Delivery is responsible for driving revenue growth by leading all marketing team members, supporting business development and client acquisition. This role oversees the end-to-end pursuit lifecycle-from engagement in the go/no-go decisions through proposal submission and interviews-ensuring compliant, compelling, and differentiated responses for opportunities. The position partners closely with Market Leads, Operations, and Discipline Leads, and technical staff to win work. This role is based in our Boise, Idaho office and requires regular on-site presence. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pursuit Strategy & Execution:
Leads the firm's pursuit marketing team across markets, geographies, and delivery methods. Oversees pursuit planning and ensures the win strategy is implemented, working with the Market Leads and marketing team members assigned to respective opportunities. Directs all RFQ, RFP, SOQ, and proposal efforts, ensuring compliance, quality, and on-time delivery. Ensures submission of project and people awards. Develops and manages pursuit schedules, responsibilities, and workflows. Facilitates storyboarding and proposal kickoffs with pursuit teams. Ensures proposals are tailored to client needs, project drivers, and evaluation criteria.
Team Leadership & Operations:
Leads and mentors proposal managers, pursuit coordinators, and marketing specialists. Establishes standards, templates, and best practices for proposals and presentations. Allocates marketing resources effectively across active pursuits. Manages proposal budgets, consultants, and outside support as needed.
Client & Market Alignment:
Partners with Business Development Team to align pursuits with strategic growth goals. Supports and analyzes market trends, competitors, and client feedback to inform pursuit strategies. Supports interview preparation, presentation coaching, and post-submittal follow-up. Tracks win/loss data and develops improvement strategies based on performance metrics.
Content & Technical Integration:
Oversees development of project sheets, resumes, and technical narratives specific to pursuits. Oversees development and maintenance of CRM program, ensuring it is up to date and accurate to support all team members utilizing the program. Ensures pursuit messaging aligns with firm positioning and brand standards. Maintains a pursuit-focused content library that supports proposal efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
BS or MS in Business, Marketing, or Civil Engineering 15+ years demonstrated career progression in a management or leadership role A/E/C industry experience required Successful track record of managing and leading teams, including remote teams Excellent communication skills. Regular, predictable attendance is required. Ability to get along and work effectively with others. Ability to work full-time in-office. Ability to travel up to 50%

Compensation:
$140,000 - $170,000 (DOE)
