Job Description

Retention Marketing Manager Remote or Seattle area | Full-Time Joylux has spent more than a decade applying science to women's intimate health. Our products help women feel comfortable, confident, and in control at every stage of life. We are growing fast and our next big opportunity is deepening relationships with the women who already trust us. We are looking for a Retention Marketing Manager who can own lifecycle marketing strategy and execute it hands-on. This is not a manage-the-agency role. You will build the flows, write the copy, configure the segments, press send and analyze results. You will also think strategically about what needs to happen and why. AI fluency is a core requirement for this role. We expect this person to use AI tools daily to work faster and smarter across copy, segmentation, analysis, and automation. If you are already doing that, we want to talk. What You Will Do Own the Customer Lifecycle
  • Develop and execute retention strategies that maximize customer lifetime value, from first purchase through long-term loyalty
  • Build post-purchase onboarding sequences, win-back campaigns, subscription retention programs, and VIP/loyalty initiatives
  • Identify lifecycle gaps and prioritize what to build next Build and Manage Lifecycle Marketing in Klaviyo You will personally build and optimize flows and campaigns. Hands-on execution is expected.
  • First 30-day onboarding and education journeys
  • Replenishment reminders and behavioral triggers
  • Cross-sell and upsell sequences
  • Subscription renewal and churn-reduction messaging
  • Win-back and reactivation campaigns
  • In-app messaging via the Joylux app Use AI Tools to Work More Effectively We expect this person to use AI to move faster and produce better work.
Practical examples:
  • Draft, test, and iterate email and SMS copy using AI
  • Build and refine prompts that generate on-brand, compliant copy for a regulated wellness product
  • Use AI-assisted analysis to identify at-risk customers, upsell opportunities, and personalization gaps
  • Automate reporting and A/B test analysis
  • Stay current on AI tools relevant to lifecycle marketing and bring recommendations to the team Lead Subscription and Loyalty Growth
  • Improve subscription conversion and reduce churn through proactive lifecycle strategies
  • Develop and test swap-vs-cancel messaging and flexible subscription features
  • Build and manage the Joylux membHERship loyalty program
  • Launch referral programs, VIP community initiatives, and surprise-and-delight campaigns Drive Cross-Sell and Product Adoption
  • Use segmentation and behavioral data to identify cross-sell opportunities across the Joylux product ecosystem
  • Build routine-based and complementary product campaigns
  • Use quizzes and guided journeys to match customers to the right products Measure and Optimize Own core retention KPIs and report on them clearly.

  • Revenue from existing customers Collaborate Cross-Functionally Work closely with eCommerce, product marketing, creative, customer experience, and growth marketing to ensure a consistent customer experience across every channel. What We Are Looking For Experience
  • 3 to 5 years in retention, lifecycle, or CRM marketing at an eCommerce or DTC subscription brand
  • Hands-on Klaviyo experience required. You have personally built flows and segmentation, not just overseen them
  • Demonstrated, consistent use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) in a marketing context
  • Proven results improving repeat purchase rate, subscription retention, or LTV Skills
  • Klaviyo:
    able to build complex flows, configure triggers, manage segments, and interpret performance data independently
  • AI fluency: you write effective prompts, evaluate output quality, and know where AI saves time and where it does not
  • Analytical:
    you make decisions based on data and can pull the data yourself
  • Strategic and executional: you can write the plan and build the campaign without waiting on others to implement
  • Organized and autonomous: you manage your own workload and communicate proactively Nice to Have
  • Experience in beauty, wellness, or women's health brands
  • Familiarity with Recharge or similar subscription platforms
  • Experience with the Shopify ecosystem
  • Experience launching referral or loyalty programs
