Create and oversee annual marketing plans, priorities, budgets, and performance metrics. Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, social media, paid media, events, and emerging platforms. Identify market trends, competitive insights, and evolving audience needs to inform strategic direction and marketing initiatives. Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational positioning, growth strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Ensure alignment between marketing strategies and business development initiatives to support membership growth and retention. Brand and Communications Leadership Serve as the steward of The Alliance brand, ensuring consistency across all communication channels, materials, and stakeholder experiences. Oversee organizational messaging, visual identity, editorial standards, and communication strategies. Lead public relations and media efforts, including strategic communications planning and external messaging support. Ensure marketing content and communications effectively reflect The Alliance's mission, values, and strategic priorities. Digital Marketing and Technology Oversight Provide strategic oversight of The Alliance website, digital experience, SEO strategy, marketing automation systems, analytics platforms, and related technologies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to continuously improve website functionality, usability, brand alignment, and operational effectiveness. Lead marketing technology optimization efforts and identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, engagement, and efficiency. Serve as a strategic resource for digital marketing best practices, analytics, and emerging technologies. Team Leadership and Development Hire, coach, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing team focused on collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, professional growth, and strong cross-functional partnerships. Establish clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations for team members. Support staff development through mentoring, feedback, and training opportunities. Analytics and Organizational Impact Establish and monitor key marketing performance indicators and provide regular reporting and strategic insights to leadership. Use data and analytics to evaluate campaign performance, audience engagement, market effectiveness, and return on investment. Lead marketing research initiatives and partner with external consultants as needed to gather insights from employer-members, employees, brokers, providers, and other stakeholders. Make strategic recommendations based on data, market trends, and organizational priorities. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Organizational Leadership Build strong collaborative relationships across departments to support organizational initiatives and strategic goals. Partner with Business Development and Member Services leadership to support growth, retention, and engagement strategies. Collaborate with operational and technology teams to improve processes, workflows, and reporting capabilities. Represent Marketing in organizational planning discussions and cross-functional initiatives. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Information Technology, or related field required. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including strategic campaign development, brand management, digital marketing, and communications leadership. Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership or people management experience required. Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing strategies and cross-functional initiatives. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable marketing plans. Experience managing marketing budgets, vendors, and agency relationships. Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, website strategy, analytics, CRM systems, and marketing automation platforms. Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform strategy and decision-making. Stand-Out From the Crowd Qualifications Previous healthcare, health benefits, or insurance industry experience preferred. Experience working within a membership-based or mission-driven organization preferred. Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms preferred. Knowledge of healthcare consumer engagement and employer-focused marketing strategies preferred. Physical Aspects of the Job This role requires regular use of a computer, including typing, viewing digital screens, and participating in virtual meetings. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods while working, attending meetings, or delivering presentations. Requires clear verbal communication and active listening in both individual and group settings. Frequent use of hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office technology. May require occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 25 pounds for meetings, events, or marketing activities. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, events, employer-member engagement activities, and organizational initiatives. Visual acuity is required for reviewing reports, analyzing data, preparing presentations, and managing digital content and communications. The Director leads the marketing team and oversees marketing operations including digital marketing, paid media, website strategy, marketing technology platforms, public relations, branding, and campaign development. This position partners closely with Business Development, Account Management, Provider Relations, Sales Operations, and executive leadership to align marketing initiatives with organizational goals and evolving market needs. As a key organizational leader, the Director of Marketing drives innovation, data-informed decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring consistent brand positioning and a high-quality member and stakeholder experience.
