Medica's Commercial Marketing Manager of Member Experience is a strategic, collaborative marketing leader responsible for driving open enrollment awareness, retention, and yearround member engagement for commercial health plans. This role leads the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that support open enrollment, adoption, and ongoing member satisfaction. Working closely with product, sales, compliance, marketing operations, and digital teams, this manager ensures all marketing initiatives are aligned with business goals and adhere to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking with hands-on executional expertise across digital and traditional channels. Performs other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Open Enrollment Strategy & Execution Plan and execute comprehensive open enrollment campaigns for commercial lines of business, driving awareness, engagement, and enrollment during the annual open enrollment period
Develop integrated marketing plans that include email, web content, paid media, social, print, and sales enablement materials
Manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment to ensure seamless campaign rollout Member Marketing & Retention Create targeted communications and campaigns to engage and retain existing members, increase plan utilization, and improve satisfaction across the member journey
Develop personalized and segmented marketing strategies to address the needs of members at key moments (onboarding, benefits reminders, preventive care, renewal)
Monitor and optimize campaign performance to continually improve engagement and retention outcomes Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with product, sales, compliance, and digital teams to ensure all marketing efforts align with product strategy, enrollment goals, and regulatory standards
Serve as the marketing lead within cross-functional working groups for open enrollment readiness and member experience initiatives
Manage external agencies, vendors, and creative partners as needed Content Development & Channel Execution Craft and deploy compelling, compliant messaging across multiple channels-including email, web, social media, direct mail, SMS (where applicable), and print
Lead copy development, creative reviews, and content optimization to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency
Coordinate with marketing operations and digital teams to support landing pages, campaign tracking, and analytics setup Performance Measurement & Optimization Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance metrics across acquisition and retention programs
Use insights to refine strategies, messaging, segmentation, and media mix
Ensure continuous improvement through A/B testing, user feedback, and channel best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7 years of experience in marketing or related field, including 2 years in health insurance, healthcare, or a regulated industry
Proven experience designing and executing integrated marketing campaigns
Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills across digital and print formats
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional partners
Understanding of compliance considerations related to commercial health plan marketing Preferred Qualifications Experience leading open enrollment or acquisition campaigns in the health insurance industry
Familiarity with email automation tools, CRM systems, CMS platforms, and analytics tools
Skill in segmentation, personalization, and member journey mapping
Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting marketing data and driving optimization This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, Madison, WI, Omaha, NE, and St. Louis, MO. The full salary grade for this position is $88,800 - $152,300. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $88,800 - $133,245. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
