Position Summary The Direct Marketing & Tasting Room Wine Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional wine tasting experiences while helping guests choose which wines to purchase and which club memberships to join. This is a sales and hospitality position. You will also be responsible for making outgoing calls to current wine club members and customers who have visited the winery and bought our wines previously to achieve sales goals. While conducting wine tastings in person and communicating over the phone and email, you will be creating and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers through personal conduct and providing exceptional hospitality to achieve sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Contact existing customers via phone or email, to provide special offerings and releases of wines that they have shown interest in
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests over the phone and in person
  • Inform guests of our exclusive wine club via email, over the phone, and in person to achieve monthly wine club sign-ups
  • Conduct professional wine tastings to achieve sales and customer retention
  • Take responsibility for achieving annual revenue goals, member acquisition, and retention targets through professional and effective telephone and email communication techniques
  • Provide guests with information about the winery, family history, and wines via outbound phone sales
  • Follow tasting room procedures to properly open/close bars as needed for your assigned shift when needed
Required Skills:
  • Possess an energetic attitude and desire to grow the business through phone sales
  • Excellent communication skills while taking responsibility for achieving annual revenue goals, member acquisition, and retention targets through professional and effective telephone and email communication techniques
  • Have a passion for wine and desire to educate customers and wine club members for their wine needs, utilizing suggestive selling and upselling
  • Engage and nurture long-term relationships with current customers and club members
  • Manage your own customer database efficiently
  • Must work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings as scheduled for special events
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Outgoing and positive personality
  • A proven sales track record and ability to sell over the phone, via email and during wine tastings
  • Understanding of customer service and customer retention
  • Wine knowledge is a plus or the desire to expand wine knowledge through research and staff tastings
  • Team player who works collaboratively with the entire staff
  • Excellent work ethic and integrity
  • Proficiency in using computer software systems, including the Microsoft Office Suite - previous experience with Tock and AMS a plus
  • Displays a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Ability to sit/stand continuously for an 8-hour shift and capable of lifting 50lbs
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening What We Offer
