Every month, we deliver a curated collection of imported snacks from a different country to thousands of customers across the United States. From Japan to South Korea, Germany to Mexico, every box creates an experience customers can't find anywhere else. We're building an internal growth agency responsible for acquisition, retention, ecommerce, gifting, and customer experience. We're looking for a Creative Strategist (Performance Marketing) to sit at the intersection of customer psychology, creative development, and marketing performance. This is not a traditional copywriter role. This is not a social media manager role. This is not a brand strategist role. This role exists to understand why customers buy, identify what messages resonate, and develop creative concepts that drive measurable business results. What You'll Do Develop Creative Concepts Create performance-focused creative concepts for paid social campaigns Develop campaign messaging and creative territories Generate new advertising angles and hooks Create concepts for evergreen, seasonal, and holiday campaigns Support major launches, promotions, and gifting initiatives Write High-Performing Marketing Copy Write paid social ad copy Write video scripts and creator briefs Develop landing page messaging Support email and SMS campaigns Create campaign headlines, offers, and promotional messaging Develop creative testing variations Research Customers & Markets Analyze customer reviews, surveys, and support conversations Identify customer motivations, objections, and buying triggers Research competitors and industry trends Study high-performing advertising across platforms Monitor creator and social media trends Build Creative Testing Frameworks Partner with Performance Marketing to develop creative testing plans Create structured hypotheses for testing Analyze creative performance results Translate performance insights into new concepts Continuously improve creative based on customer response Collaborate Across Teams Partner with the Creative Director to develop campaign concepts Work closely with the Performance Marketing Lead to identify opportunities Collaborate with CRM, Ecommerce, and Analytics teams Support creator marketing initiatives Help align messaging across channels and customer touchpoints What Success Looks Like A steady pipeline of new creative concepts and testing ideas Improved advertising performance through stronger creative Better customer understanding across the organization Higher-performing hooks, scripts, and messaging Faster creative iteration cycles Consistent campaign messaging across channels Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in creative strategy, performance marketing, copywriting, advertising, or a related field Strong writing and communication skills Experience developing creative for paid social platforms Understanding of consumer psychology and customer behavior Ability to turn data and insights into creative ideas Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Ecommerce experience Subscription business experience Experience with Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and paid social advertising Experience writing direct response copy Experience developing creator or influencer content Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies Experience working with performance marketing teams Portfolio of advertising or campaign work Why This Role Matters Most companies spend their time asking: "What should we make?" The best marketing organizations ask: "Why would a customer care?" The Creative Strategist helps answer that question. This role will help uncover the motivations, emotions, objections, and behaviors that drive purchasing decisions and transform those insights into creative concepts that generate measurable business results. The person in this role will help answer questions such as: Why are customers buying SnackCrate? What messaging drives the highest conversion rates? Which advertising angles create the strongest customer response? What objections are preventing purchase? Which customer segments respond to which messages? What creative should we test next? Why did one campaign outperform another? The work you do will directly influence customer acquisition, retention, campaign performance, and overall business growth. What This Role Is Not This role is not responsible for: Managing paid media budgets Scheduling social media posts Graphic design execution Video editing Project management Marketing operations Community management Instead, this role focuses on generating insights, concepts, messaging, and creative ideas that drive business results. Compensation $75,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
