Function or Purpose of Position The Marketing Specialist position is responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing initiatives that support the Credit Union's brand, strategic objectives, and member engagement efforts. This role creates marketing campaigns, branded materials, digital content, and communications to ensure consistent messaging, strong brand alignment, and effective promotion of products, services, and organizational initiatives. Essential Job Functions or Tasks of Position Develop, implement, and maintain marketing campaigns in alignment with DFDFCU's mission, values, and strategic goals. Campaign maintenance includes internal emails to team regarding goal alignment and achievement, creating a break-even analysis to ensure campaigns are profitable, also creating a ROI report post-campaign to analyze the profitability of the campaign. Create, coordinate, and oversee marketing materials, including digital content, print collateral, signage, email communications, and internal messaging. Maintain all corporate websites and all corporate social media sites, ensuring content is accurate, current, compliant, and aligned with brand standards. Coordinate website and social media updates related to products, services, promotions, events, and organizational messaging. Collaborate with internal departments to support marketing needs related to products, services, initiatives, and events. Monitor campaign and digital performance and provide reporting or insights as requested. Manage the selection, ordering, and inventory of branded merchandise (Swag) and promotional materials. Ensure consistent brand standards across all marketing platforms and materials. Completes monthly Board Membership report and SGD report timely and accurately for Board of Directors. Duties and responsibilities for this position change with the business needs of the Credit Union, and typically change at least annually based on growth, team member turnover, coverage for team members not performing to expectations, and changes in business strategies. In addition, due to the organization's unique business model, titles at DFDFCU do not dictate specific job duties as with many other credit unions. Job duties, titles, and responsibilities are constantly changing to ensure member service and necessary financial performance. Support community engagement, outreach initiatives, and internal events as assigned. Maintain organized records related to marketing materials, events, vendors, and contracts. Comply with all DFDFCU policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support the operational needs and strategic objectives of the Credit Union.
Qualifications Required of Position Qualification Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups. Ability to develop clear, engaging messaging and presentations that align with DFDFCU's mission, values, products, and services. Strong writing skills, including the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, concise, member-friendly content. Ability to collaborate across departments to support marketing initiatives, events, and member engagement efforts. Demonstrated professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a service-oriented mindset. Education/Experience:
Three to five years of related experience in marketing, communications, event management, business development, or a similar role. Experience coordinating events, campaigns, or community-focused initiatives. Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams, community partners, and firefighter-related organizations preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience working with websites, digital platforms, or content management systems preferred. Ability to learn and use internal systems, databases, and event management tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing excellent service to members and partners. Pay:
