Job Description
Durango Hot Springs seeks a motivated, highly organized, creative and digital marketing-minded individual for the position of Marketing Specialist. This salaried position includes eligibility for health insurance benefits and matching 401K, as well as providing several amazing company-wide benefits such as complimentary hot springs soaking for employees and their families, discounts on massage services and ski passes and more. This position, which is highly focused on digital marketing, is considered vital to the company's marketing strategy. Durango Hot Springs has built a very strong social presence, which is generally considered one of the top programs in the hot springs industry. To continue and to build upon this success requires someone with experience in both organic and paid (Meta) campaigns so that the company's social presence (primarily Facebook and Instagram, but also including other channels) can continue to thrive and grow. The Marketing Specialist also leads SEM activities (mainly Google Ads and Meta). This position also creates content, such as blogs and landing page copy for the company's website, as well as creating visual content such as reels and infographics. This position also conceptualizes and coordinates property photo shoots and acts as a liaison to visiting journalists. Areas that the company would like to see grow: instructional videos on Youtube and social channels, expanded company website with improved SEO leading to better SERPs, and better use of Analytics data. In addition, this position plays a crucial role in the company's traditional print advertising and marketing, non-profit engagement and general community relations. As such, the Marketing Specialist is an excellent opportunity for community engagement & networking, with this individual being a prime mover in helping the business grow. And, of course, Durango Hot Springs is set amidst the mountains of Durango's Animas Valley and maintains a botanical garden-inspired environment - not a bad place to come to work. Requirements include a very strong sense of motivation, the ability to write compelling copy without the use of AI, some knowledge of graphics programs such as Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite, an understanding of Google Analytics and the ability to engage with humans in the real world. This is a fun and exciting job within a company that intentionally strives to create a good work culture; but make no mistake: the Marketing Specialist is kept very busy, requiring a self-starter who can maintain the energy and creativity to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and to see each one to a successful conclusion.
