Job Description

VN Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Marketing Specialist to join our team in person at our Connecticut office. This position is ideal for an experienced marketing and proposal professional with a strong background in the engineering, construction, transportation, or consulting industries. The Senior Marketing Specialist will play a key role in leading proposal efforts, developing strategic marketing materials, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring high-quality, client-focused submissions. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working closely with senior leadership, project managers, technical staff, and administrative team members.
Compensation:
$35-$50 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal & Pursuit Management:
Lead the development of proposals, RFP responses, letters of interest, statements of qualifications, and other pursuit materials. Manage the full proposal process, including reviewing RFP requirements, creating compliance matrices, establishing deadlines, coordinating content, writing, editing, formatting, proofreading, and final production. Work closely with senior leadership and technical staff to develop proposal strategies, win themes, project approaches, resumes, and relevant project experience. Ensure all submissions are compliant, persuasive, accurate, and aligned with VN Engineers' brand standards. Support interview and presentation preparation, including presentation materials, talking points, and coordination with technical staff.
Business Development & Client Support:
Track upcoming opportunities, client needs, market trends, and pursuit schedules to support strategic planning. Assist with developing capture strategies and targeted marketing approaches for key clients and project opportunities. Prepare client-focused materials, including qualification packages, brochures, presentations, project sheets, and resumes. Support participation in industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and other business development activities.
Marketing & Communications:
Maintain and update marketing collateral, project descriptions, employee resumes, proposal templates, and company boilerplate content. Develop compelling written content for proposals, presentations, website updates, social media, internal communications, and other marketing channels. Contribute to company branding, messaging, and marketing initiatives that enhance VN Engineers' visibility and competitive position. Mentor or provide guidance to junior marketing staff as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, English, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in proposal writing, marketing, communications, or business development, preferably within the engineering, construction, architecture, transportation, or consulting industries. Strong knowledge of proposal development processes, RFP compliance, pursuit strategy, and professional services marketing. Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and persuasive content. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is required; experience with Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, technical staff, and administrative teams. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay:
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour
