grinding machine tools, with a strong focus on grinding applications, process optimization, and customer-specific engineering solutions. This role serves as the primary technical expert for grinding technologies, supporting both new business development and long-term customer relationships. The position partners closely with Area Sales Managers, Applications Engineering, and globalDMG MORI
manufacturing sites to ensure customers receive the optimal grinding solution for their manufacturing requirements. This role reports to the Managing Director. Essential Job Functions Serve as the technical and commercial lead forDMG MORI
grinding machine tools and related technologies. Develop, support, and expand customer relationships by providing application-focused grinding solutions. Promote and support the sale ofDMG MORI
grinding machines through technical sales support, application analysis, and solution recommendations. Collaborate with Area Sales Managers and Applications Engineering teams to assess customer requirements, part geometry, tolerances, materials, and production goals. Recommend optimal grinding processes, machines, tooling, automation, and control configurations based on customer needs. Achieve forecasted sales targets for assigned grinding technologies and market segments. Conduct on-site customer visits to validate applications, evaluate processes, and confirm proposed technical solutions. Support and participate in machine demonstrations, customer run-offs, and proof-of-concept trials. Communicate regularly with overseasDMG MORI
manufacturing facilities regarding technical requirements, special configurations, and product development feedback. Travel internationally to OEM factories for technical training, collaboration, and product reviews. Provide technical input and support to internal engineering and sales teams throughout the sales cycle. Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; professional engineering certification preferred. 10+ years of experience in the machine tool industry with strong emphasis on grinding machines and applications. Proven technical sales experience with a track record of new business development, account growth, and customer retention. In-depth knowledge of grinding processes (e.g., cylindrical, surface, profile, tool grinding). Proficiency with CNC controls including FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Mitsubishi. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, work holding, automation, and process optimization. Experience managing complex technical or sales projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM software, particularly for grinding applications. Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and key stakeholders.
