Position Summary The Automation and Systems professional serves as the primary bridge between business operations and IT. This role is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and optimizing software solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality across the organization. The position owns system administration and ongoing development of core business applications, including low-code platforms and workload management tools. It also focuses on identifying and implementing practical automation and AI-driven improvements across workflows. This role requires a strong mix of technical aptitude, business process understanding, and stakeholder collaboration. Key Responsibilities Software and Systems Ownership Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and IT for enterprise software platforms Evaluate, select, and implement new software solutions aligned with operational needs Translate business requirements into technical specifications and system designs Manage system integrations, upgrades, and long-term roadmaps Low-Code Platform Administration (e.g., QuickBase or similar) Configure, maintain, and enhance applications within a low-code platform Design scalable data models, workflows, dashboards, and reporting solutions Ensure data integrity, security, and role-based access controls Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize system usage across operations, engineering, and finance Workload and Resource Management Systems Administer and improve workload management tools to support planning and capacity alignment Standardize workflows and data inputs to improve forecasting and staffing visibility Develop dashboards and reporting to support leadership decision-making Support system migrations or transitions to new platforms as needed AI and Automation Enablement Identify opportunities to apply automation and AI to improve efficiency (e.g., reporting, forecasting, document processing) Pilot and implement solutions that deliver measurable productivity improvements Ensure alignment with data governance, security, and compliance standards Collaborate with IT and leadership to establish responsible AI practices Process Improvement and Governance Document current and future state processes Drive process standardization and simplification through technology Establish governance for system updates, enhancements, and user requests Develop training materials, user guides, and best practices Support end user adoption and continuous improvement initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in business systems, software implementation, or digital operations Hands-on experience with low-code platforms (e.g., QuickBase or similar) Experience supporting workload, resource, or project management systems Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions Experience working cross-functionally with IT and business teams Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing automation or AI-based tools Familiarity with integrations, APIs, and enterprise system data flows Experience in telecom, engineering, construction, or utility environments Strong data analytics and dashboard development skills Experience with change management and user adoption strategies Key Competencies Strong business process mindset with a focus on practical technology solutions Value-driven approach to automation and AI adoption Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable Continuous improvement mindset
