Job Description

Join TrueNorth as our Content Strategist and play a key role in bringing our mission to life through meaningful storytelling and strategic content. Reporting to the Communications Senior Program Officer, this position leads the planning, creation, and distribution of content that highlights our impact and engages our community. You'll build and manage a cohesive content system, turning real stories into compelling messaging across digital, print, and social platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, thinking strategically, and collaborating across teams to make a visible impact. You'll work closely with program staff, communications, and creative team members to elevate voices, increase visibility, and strengthen community connection.
What You'll Do:
Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with organizational priorities Identify and lead storytelling opportunities across programs and impact areas Write and edit content for web, social media, newsletters, campaigns, and more Turn stories into multi-channel content (web, email, social, print) Collaborate with design and media team members to bring stories to life Support donor engagement through compelling, mission-driven messaging Help maintain a consistent voice and brand across all communications Contribute to video and visual storytelling efforts (as applicable)
What We're Looking For:
3-5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field Strong writing and storytelling skills Experience managing content plans or editorial calendars Familiarity with social media and digital content best practices Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working across teams Passion for mission-driven work and community impact Experience with video storytelling is a plus This position is based in Fremont, MI.
