Associate Consultant, Customer Engagement Spotlight Analyst Relations Kansas City, MO Job Details 7 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Research Full Job Description Are you someone who gets energized by figuring out what makes a customer want to share their story—and then doing the work to make it happen? About the role The Associate Consultant, Customer Engagement is an early-career entry point into Spotlight's Customer Engagement practice—and a substantive one. You're not filing and scheduling. From day one, you're working alongside an experienced Consultant to manage the moving parts of enterprise customer advocacy programs: platform configuration, advocate recruitment, client communications, and program reporting. You'll support a portfolio of enterprise technology clients, helping keep programs organized, on track, and growing. You'll also get exposure to how Spotlight's customer advocacy work connects to the broader influence ecosystem—partnering with AR-focused Client Teams to feed a healthy reference pipeline, and working alongside the Research & Intelligence team as your programs generate customer voice data worth tracking. Over time, you'll take on more ownership as your instincts develop and your client relationships deepen. This is a role for someone who learns by doing, asks sharp questions, and wants to build a career at the intersection of customer relationships and strategic storytelling. Those effective in this role… Support the design and day-to-day execution of customer advocacy programs—coordinating advocate recruitment, content creation, platform activity, and participation tracking to keep programs moving on schedule. Maintain and configure advocacy platforms (UserEvidence, Base, Deeto, SlapFive, and similar tools), becoming a reliable resource for the Consultant and clients on day-to-day platform needs. Build and maintain client-ready deliverables—program reports, advocate summaries, pipeline trackers—that give clients a clear, accurate picture of program health and momentum. Help coordinate the flow of customer references between client advocacy programs and Spotlight's AR teams, supporting the pipeline of evidence needed for Gartner MQ, Forrester Wave, and similar analyst evaluations. Stay organized across a portfolio of active programs, tracking advocate status, content deadlines, and open client requests so nothing falls through the cracks. Bring genuine curiosity to the work—researching platform developments, monitoring what advocacy-forward companies are doing, and surfacing ideas that could strengthen client programs. What you bring A foundation in customer marketing or advocacy. You have 1-3 years of experience in customer advocacy, customer marketing, or a closely related field—enough to understand how advocacy programs work and why they matter to B2B technology companies. Execution instincts. You're organized, reliable, and follow through. You can track multiple workstreams without being reminded, stay on top of details, and flag issues before they become problems. In consulting, a client's confidence in you is built one dependable interaction at a time—and you understand that. Clear, professional communication. You write well and communicate with clarity—in client-facing materials, internal updates, and day-to-day messages. You know the difference between thorough and useful, and you default to useful. Curiosity about the tools. You're comfortable learning new platforms quickly and have some exposure to advocacy, community, or CRM tools—whether that's UserEvidence, Influitive, Higher Logic, Salesforce, or HubSpot. You don't need to be an expert yet; you need to be the kind of person who gets there fast. You thrive in a small-team environment where your work is visible, you ask questions before assuming, and you take real pride in the details that don't always get noticed. You could come from customer marketing, marketing operations, community management, B2B SaaS, or a client services role at a marketing technology company.
