Job Description

Marketing Specialist Job Summary:
The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the marketing efforts across all Baker Nursery Gardens brands. This role requires a confident and creative individual who can manage multi-channel marketing campaigns, provide constructive feedback, and balance efficiency with accuracy. The Marketing Specialist will drive brand awareness by developing cohesive strategies, managing website updates, maintaining a marketing calendar, and creating engaging content that aligns with the company's goals and values.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision to the Workshop Coordinator and instructors, including day-to-day guidance, communication, and performance support.
  • Coordinate work assignments, priorities, and schedules in alignment with workshop programming and marketing objectives.
  • Monitor performance and provide direct timely feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Partner with Operations Manager on training needs, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Ensure consistency with organizational policies, procedures, and brand standards across all supervised programming.
  • Support Scheduling, communication, and alignment between workshops and marketing initiatives.
Position Reports to:
Operations Manager Key Duties and Responsibilities
    Content Creation & Management:
    o Edit, format, and post blogs with appropriate imagery. o Film, edit, and produce engaging video content for social media. o Create and manage unique content for social media, email campaigns, and text marketing. o Maintain and organize an internal photo library.
      Campaigns & Strategy:
      o Develop and execute cohesive multi-channel marketing strategies, including email, social media, text messaging, and paid ads. o Analyze marketing campaign performance metrics (e.g., conversion rates, traffic sources, engagement) and suggest optimizations. o Report on key performance indicators across all channels. o Collaborate with department managers to create campaigns aligned with business goals. o Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, social media, and technology. o Continuously explore new tools and ideas to enhance marketing strategies. o Create and manage a comprehensive marketing calendar to track campaigns, events, and promotions. o Engage in strategy and content planning to drive brand awareness. o Attend Baker Garden & Gift leadership activities and serve on the Culture Committee.
        Website Management:
        o Update and maintain website content, including seasonal homepage features, product catalogs, and event promotions. o Monitor and optimize Google Analytics, SEO, and web traffic metrics.
          Event Promotion & Participation:
          o Promote key events through marketing channels and attend workshops with 20 or more in attendance, including spruce tops workshops, and key seasonal events, which may include evening and weekends. o Support employee recognition and engagement activities using marketing tools
          Feedback & Collaboration:
          o Maintain strong relationships with department managers, Human Resources, the Workshop Coordinator and Instructors. o Communicate expectations clearly and address issues promptly and constructively. o Support cross-department collaborations to ensure marketing strategies align with workshop offerings and customer experience goals. Required Skills & Abilities
          • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), email platforms, and marketing best practices.
          • Willingness to grow knowledge in web traffic metrics, SEO, and digital marketing tools.
          • Familiarity with social media KPIs and campaign analytics.
          • Creative thinker eager to try innovative approaches.
          • Excellent multitasking, project management, and time-management skills.
          • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
          • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; works well in a team environment. Education and Experience
          • Minimum one year of experience in social media or marketing roles, or equivalent education
          Pay:
          $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
