Key Responsibilities Identify operational workflows that could benefit from automation Assist with designing and building automated processes using Microsoft Power Automate Support automation projects related to: Meet with staff teams to understand current processes and pain points Document workflows and recommend process improvements Test and troubleshoot automation flows Help evaluate future AI and workflow automation opportunities Demonstrate professionalism and reliability Maintain confidentiality Complete assigned projects and learning objectives Participate in feedback discussions Represent the YMCA positively
Internship Structure Duration:
10 weeks Hours per week: 30 hours
Learning Opportunities:
The intern will gain hands-on experience in: Workflow automation design Organizational process analysis AI-enabled operational strategy Microsoft Power Platform tools Cross-functional collaboration within a large nonprofit organization
Deliverables:
By the end of the internship, the intern will: Develop at least one functioning workflow automation prototype Present workflow recommendations and findings Document automation opportunities for future implementation Qualifications Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, technical school, or graduate program; OR Be participating in an approved workforce development program Demonstrate an interest in nonprofit, community, operational, or professional development work. Interest in technology, process improvement, AI, or workflow automation Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Outlook, Point, Excel) Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff Self-starter who enjoys learning and experimentation Experience with Power Automate, Zapier, Make, or similar tools is a plus, but not required
