About the Role We're a growing property damage restoration company looking for a driven, personable Business Development Representative to own and grow our referral network across the Chicago metro area. This is a boots-on-the-ground role — you'll be out in the field every day, building authentic relationships with the people who influence where restoration work goes: plumbers, insurance agents, and property managers. This isn't a desk job. If you thrive on conversation, love meeting new people, and are motivated by watching your hard work compound into real income over time, this role was built for you. What You'll Do Identify, prospect, and develop referral partnerships with plumbers, insurance agents, property managers, and other trade and industry professionals across the Chicago metro area Hit a weekly target of 50 quality interactions — defined as real, two-way conversations that either advance a referral relationship or teach you something new about a prospect. These happen through networking events, lunch and learns, trade shows, job site visits, and one-on-ones Nurture existing relationships through consistent, intentional outreach — not just showing up, but showing up with purpose Track all activity and pipeline in our CRM and bring visibility to leadership during periodic office check-ins Collaborate with our operations team to ensure referred clients have a seamless experience — your reputation in the field depends on ours What We're Looking For A natural connector. You remember names, follow up without being asked, and genuinely enjoy people. Small talk doesn't drain you — it energizes you. Self-directed and disciplined. You manage your own calendar and stay accountable to activity metrics without someone watching over your shoulder. We are looking for an individual who can achieve at least 50 meaningful touchpoints per week — networking events, lunch and learns, trade shows, and one-on-ones all count Resilient and consistent. Referral-based sales takes time to compound. You put in the reps even before the results arrive. Prior experience in restoration, insurance, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, construction, or related trades is a strong plus — but not required for the right candidate Existing relationships with plumbers, insurance professionals, or property managers in the Chicago area? That's a meaningful head start. Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required Compensation & Earning Potential Base salary: $60,000-$70,000 based on experience Commission tied directly to referral revenue you generate with no cap Performance bonuses for hitting partnership and pipeline milestones Based on our benchmarks, reps who hit their stride in year two are on track for total compensation at the high end of the indicated range — the upside is real and tied to effort Territory Note Our primary service territory covers a 90-minute radius from Elk Grove Village (60007). While you're welcome to network broadly across greater Chicago, ongoing referral partnerships work best when projects fall within our serviceable footprint — something we'll align on together early.
