Marketing Consultant Job Description We are seeking a Marketing Consultant to lead a comprehensive marketing and brand assessment for our civil engineering firm. The role involves conducting interviews, audits, and evaluations to understand and enhance our company's branding and messaging. You will also be responsible for developing a tailored marketing strategy aligned with our business goals and target audience. Responsibilities Interview leadership and staff to understand company culture and employee experience. Conduct a comprehensive audit of the company's current website, branding, marketing materials, and job postings. Evaluate messaging, positioning, and overall brand consistency. Identify gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Define the employee value proposition and identify key messages for prospective employees. Develop storytelling themes around project impact, community engagement, mentorship, professional growth, and workplace culture. Recommend ways to communicate what makes the company unique. Develop a tailored marketing strategy aligned with the firm's business goals and target audience. Define value proposition and key differentiators within the engineering/technical services market. Recommend marketing channels and tactics including digital, content, and networking. Develop a list of priority actions for the next 12-24 months. Provide budget, staffing, and resource recommendations. Assist with implementing recommended changes and collaborate with web developers, designers, or internal stakeholders. Provide guidance on ongoing marketing efforts and content strategy. Essential Skills 5+ years of marketing consulting experience. Experience in digital marketing, marketing communications, and marketing strategy. Proficiency in branding, Indesign, Powerpoint, and advertising. Must have built a marketing strategy from the ground up. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience partnering with engineering firms is a plus. Skills in social media and project management. Work Environment The role requires the consultant to be local for occasional office visits, though the majority of the work will be remote. The position involves approximately 20 hours of work per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
