PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The Marketing Specialist will be engaged in Clearwater Marine Aquarium's marketing, communication, and sales strategy to drive visitors, donors and partners to support CMA's mission. The role supports and executes campaigns and marketing initiatives across social media, email & SMS communication, website updates, advertising, and other emerging digital marketing channels. The marketing specialist will develop presentations, lead projects, create content, and launch workflows to attract, engage, and retain CMA's audience segments to continuously drive attendance and generate revenue through visitation, membership programs, events, and fundraising efforts. This hands-on role blends creative content development with technical expertise in marketing tech, data analytics and automation. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented team player who excels at writing and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are passionate about creating personalized, engaging digital experiences for guests, donors, and community members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Social & Content Marketing Collaborate with the marketing team to manage CMA's platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) Create digital content for social media, email, website, advertising, and CMA member communications Engage with online communities and monitor digital conversations Attend weekend/evening events as needed to gather content for campaigns Monitor media alerts and online mentions of CMA Assist with website edits and updates Develop and deliver email campaigns, including membership and donor updates Create and refine PowerPoint presentations for internal and external audiences Plan email marketing automation workflows Manage email campaigns end-to-end: planning, targeting, setup, testing, execution, reporting, and optimization Manage assigned projects to include but not limited to developing the plan, communicating the plan, modifying the plan as needed and executing the plan Build and test segmented lists and workflows based on audience behavior Develop automated email campaigns across the guest and donor journey Implement A/B testing to improve conversion rates Monitor key web analytics and ensure proper tracking for campaign performance Technical & Strategic Collaboration Execute marketing CRM and database tasks: account setup, contact/deal properties, workflow automation, landing pages, forms, and reporting Collaborate with digital marketing coordinator, interns, and other marketing department team members to meet campaign goals Research influencer opportunities and online partnerships Stay current with content marketing methodology and digital best practices
EXPRERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Strong writing and editing skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling digital content Deep knowledge of social media platforms and best practices Experience using HubSpot, or similar marketing CRM, and marketing automation platforms Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong organizational and project management abilities Ability to analyze and interpret campaign reports Understanding of email deliverability and mobile-first design Professional communication and collaboration skills Adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines Experience with these tools preferred or an ability to learn these tools required Adobe Creative Cloud tools Canva Classy/GoFundMe Pro, or other fundraising platforms HTML/CSS, Wordpress or other web CMS HubSpot, Salesforce, other CRM platforms SEO/SEM, PPC, paid search, programmatic ad platforms
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred, experience on a 1 on 1 basis may be substituted Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing Digital portfolio recommended
