Schemmer of Sioux Falls, SD is looking to hire a full-time Marketing Specialist . Are you a motivated, detail-oriented marketer with a passion for writing , visual storytelling , and brand-building ? Do you enjoy coordinating proposals and marketing materials in a deadline-driven environment? If so, please read on!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MARKETING SPECIALIST
As a key member of our marketing team, you'll help elevate Schemmer's brand and directly support business development efforts for our architecture and engineering projects. You will coordinate and develop proposals (RFP/RFQ responses), qualifications packages, and interview presentations—managing schedules, deadlines, and submission requirements while partnering with technical staff to gather project information and craft compelling narratives. You'll also create and maintain marketing collateral across digital and print platforms, including project sheets, resumes, brochures, presentations, advertisements, signage, and recruiting materials—ensuring consistent branding and high-quality design. In addition, you'll support external communications by writing and editing website content, social media posts, newsletters, press releases, and internal updates that highlight projects, people, and firm culture. You'll assist with events and community outreach—coordinating conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, and networking opportunities—and help with follow-up communications. You'll track marketing metrics (such as website traffic, proposal win rates, and campaign performance), maintain templates and marketing files, update contact databases/CRM, and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency
ABOUT YOU!
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally in architecture/engineering/construction or other professional services Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience developing proposals and pursuit materials (RFP/RFQ) Advanced organization skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite—InDesign required—and comfort designing collateral for print and digital use Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, website CMS platforms, email marketing tools, and social media channels Experience with CRM/database tools, contact management, and basic marketing analytics/reporting Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical professionals and leadership
