Job Description
Role Summary The Sr. Product Manager / Product Director, PhD leads U.S. product strategy and execution for molecular diagnostics and related assay portfolios. This role connects customers, KOLs, commercial teams, operations, QA/RA, manufacturing, supply chain, and group R&D to translate market needs into clear product requirements, launch plans, and lifecycle actions. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong scientific judgment, product ownership, cross-functional execution, and clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy and Portfolio Leadership Define U.S. product strategy, roadmap priorities, and portfolio direction for molecular diagnostics and related product lines. Translate customer needs, workflow requirements, market trends, and competitive insights into practical product requirements. Manage product lifecycle activities, including new product introduction, upgrades, localization, and phase-out planning. Support OEM, customized, and localized product opportunities for customers, partners, distributors, or group-level business needs. Serve as the key product interface between Lusis and group R&D, ensuring product requirements, technical updates, timelines, and priorities are aligned. Coordinate with R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, commercial, and customer-facing teams to move product projects forward. Track milestones, risks, action items, blockers, and follow-ups to support timely execution and leadership visibility. Technical Product Management Provide product input across molecular diagnostic workflows, including specimen collection, pretreatment, extraction, amplification, interpretation, and reporting. Work with scientific and technical teams on panel design, performance targets, cutoff logic, usability, acceptance criteria, and product transfer readiness. Identify product risks, usability gaps, workflow issues, sample matrix challenges, and technical questions, and coordinate appropriate resolution. Ensure product decisions support scientific integrity, manufacturability, regulatory readiness, customer usability, and scalable commercialization. Regulatory, Quality, and Launch Support Train internal teams on product positioning, technical fundamentals, workflow considerations, and customer-facing talking points. Build a structured feedback loop among customers, commercial teams, technical teams, and group R&D to improve product fit and performance. Reporting, Process Improvement, and AI-Enabled Efficiency Identify recurring communication, documentation, workflow, and execution gaps, and recommend practical improvements. Use AI tools to improve productivity, including summarizing customer feedback, drafting product documents, organizing project notes, preparing reports, and improving internal documentation. Review AI-generated content carefully for accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, scientific appropriateness, and professionalism before use. Required Qualifications PhD in molecular biology, biology, biomedical science, clinical medicine, microbiology, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in life sciences, molecular diagnostics, IVD, LDT, biotechnology, or a related technical product environment; 8+ years preferred for Product Director-level candidates. Strong understanding of PCR, qPCR, NGS, nucleic acid testing, assay workflows, and clinical or laboratory operations. Experience translating customer, market, and technical needs into product requirements, project plans, and launch materials. Strong cross-functional leadership, project execution, problem-solving, documentation, and follow-up skills. Experience supporting U.S. customer communication, partner collaboration, KOL engagement, product localization, or commercial launch activities. Tools and Systems Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools. Product requirement, project management, documentation, or collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, or similar platforms. AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms for productivity, documentation, analysis, and workflow support.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
