Part-Time Product Development & Sample Coordinator

About ABDS Anderson Brothers Design & Supply (ABDS) is a Southern California-based design, sourcing, and production company specializing in apparel, headwear, accessories, and custom merchandise programs for leading retail, hospitality, and lifestyle brands. We combine creative development, overseas sourcing, domestic production, and fulfillment under one roof. As our development and overseas production programs continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive Product Development & Sample Coordinator to help support development timelines, sample management, factory communication, and production coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, follow-through, communication, and keeping multiple moving projects on track in a fast-paced environment. ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Sample Coordination Help manage development timelines from concept through bulk production Track sample progress, approvals, revisions, and production milestones Coordinate incoming and outgoing samples with factories, customers, and internal teams Organize and maintain development calendars, WIP trackers, and sample logs Help coordinate artwork, labeling, packaging, trims, and development details with factories and internal departments Assist with tech pack organization, comments, and sample follow-up Overseas Production Support Communicate daily with overseas factories regarding sample status, approvals, timelines, and production updates Help monitor production schedules and shipment timelines Track PPS samples, TOP samples, testing timelines, and production approvals Communicate delays, risks, or development issues proactively Help ensure development and production calendars stay on track Operational & Team Coordination Work closely with design, sales, production, warehouse, and management teams Maintain organized development records and approval documentation Help identify workflow improvements and recurring bottlenecks Support cross-functional communication to help projects move efficiently Qualifications 3-5+ years experience in product development, sample coordination, apparel production, sourcing, or related fields Experience working with overseas factories preferred Understanding of apparel development timelines, sampling processes, trims, labeling, and production approvals Highly organized with strong attention to detail Strong communication and follow-up skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Experience with Excel, ERP systems, project trackers, or project management tools is a plus What Success Looks Like Samples and approvals stay organized and on schedule Development timelines are tracked proactively Communication between teams and factories improves Development bottlenecks are reduced Production calendars become more organized and scalable Projects move through development with fewer delays and surprises Important Notes This is a highly hands-on coordination role focused on organization, communication, follow-through, and execution.
