Full-time Position Overview:
A Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of manufactured products, from conception to closing, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer satisfaction. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and sales, to manufacture products to meet or exceed customer requirements and maximize organizational profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement product strategies and roadmaps for manufactured products in identified product line(s). Ensure products meet or exceed Customer Specifications, are delivered on time, and with all associated deliverables required by the customer. Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to help ensure product feasibility, manufacturability, and quality standards. Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to align production capabilities with customer requirements and market demands. Manage product development of projects leading to manufacturing, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Oversee product testing, validation, and compliance with regulatory standards. Monitor product performance, including cost efficiency and production performance. Lead initiatives for product kickoffs with manufacturing, production, quality and assembly. Provided detailed information including updates, revisions, enhancements, or closeouts as necessary. Collaborate with Procurement and Production teams to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality. Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing processes. Maintain detailed records of product specifications, changes, and project timelines. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on product and project progress. Meets and exceeds departmental and organizational Key Performance Indicators Provide Warranty and MRB functions for their Product line, offering crucial insights for manufacturing improvement. Administer the Manufacture Review Board for their Product Line Schedule warranty/repair work with production, while prioritizing based on customer needs and business capabilities. Other duties as assigned.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
1. General knowledge and understanding of
ISO 9001
2015 as it pertains to the job. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or 3 years of relevant work experience. 3+ years of experience in product management/program management or manufacturing-related roles. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and product lifecycle management. Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams. Familiarity with quality assurance and regulatory compliance standards in manufacturing. Experience in project management methodologies. Knowledge of CAD software or technical design principles. Background in industrial sectors such as firearms, consumer goods, electronics, or aerospace.
