As a core component of our Technology Platform Engineering and Operations (TPEO) function, this role will report directly to the Head of Azure Cloud platform. Our cloud platforms serve as the backbone for business innovation, enabling secure, scalable, and resilient digital capabilities across the firm. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leadership to shape strategic plans and product roadmap in support of our business strategy. The Azure Cloud Platform Product Manager leads the vision and strategy for State Street's enterprise Azure cloud platform in alignment with the firm's hybrid multi-cloud strategy, ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable delivery across the firm. This role leads the evolution toward a product-centric operating model in a thoughtful, patient, and collaborative manner—partnering closely with platform engineering team to embed product thinking, enhance developer and client experience, drive shared ownership without disrupting ongoing delivery commitments. The Azure Cloud Platform:
Serves as a strategic pillar of the firm's hybrid multi-cloud architecture Enables application modernization, developer velocity, and enterprise-scale engineering Operates under stringent governance, security, and regulatory expectations This role is critical to ensuring that Azure evolves as a true enterprise platform product—balancing innovation with stability—by: Driving alignment with enterprise platform strategy and evolving business priorities Establishing consistent, reusable, and scalable platform capabilities delivered as productized services Continuously improving platform outcomes across reliability, risk posture, developer experience, and cost efficiency Advancing the platform through close, collaborative partnership with engineering teams, ensuring changes are adopted in a pragmatic and sustainable manner What you will be responsible for Define and own the long-term product vision and multi-year roadmap for the Azure cloud platform Lead the evolution toward a product-centric model through incremental, well-sequenced changes that maintain delivery stability Build strong, trust-based partnerships with platform engineering teams to co-create the product operating model Demonstrate patience and pragmatism in balancing transformation goals with current organizational maturity Enable teams to adopt product practices at a sustainable pace, including roadmaps, backlogs, and customer feedback loops Establish structured engagement mechanisms (e.g., developer forums, feedback loops, usage insights) to continuously refine platform priorities Act as executive-level voice of the customer for Azure platform consumers across Application, SRE, Infra, security and other cross functional teams Set platform product strategy for Azure platform capabilities, account vending, networking, IAM, security guardrails, observability, automation, and service enablement Drive prioritization decisions balancing enterprise risk, resilience, cost, and developer velocity Partner with senior engineering, architecture, security, risk, and finance leaders to align platform investments to business outcomes Establish platform success metrics and regularly report outcomes to executive technology leadership Ensure security, compliance, and operational resilience are embedded as default capabilities across the Azure platform Influence enterprise cloud standards, operating models, and governance forums as the Azure platform product leader What we value (skills that will help you succeed) Strong Product management experience owning platform products Proven experience leading platform as a product transformation with preferred expertise in Cloud platforms Demonstrated ability to lead gradual, large-scale operating model transformations Pragmatic and patient approach to change management Strong influencing skills in complex, federated organizations Demonstrated ability to deliver in regulated financial environments and working with global regulatory bodies like
FRB, FCA, PRA, MAS
etc around cloud controls and compliance Proven ability to operate at executive level, influencing strategy across engineering, security, risk, and finance organizations Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or engineering discipline) or equivalent work experience 15+ years overall IT industry experience with atleast 5+ years in a product management role with a IT platform preferably Cloud in a highly regulated financial services institution with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role Good working knowledge of any cloud - AWS, Azure, GCP etc . Well versed with foundational constructs around Compute, Networking, Security and Storage Good working knowledge of NIST 800-53, Cloud Security Alliance(CSA) Cloud control matrix (CCM 4.0), NIST CyberSecurity framework and knowledge of regulatory frameworks like
GDPR, DORA
etc Proven experience using Agile methodologies.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $217,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
