Job Description

Piper Companies is hiring a Product Manager for a tech-driven, high-growth organization in the insurance and annuities space located in Durham, NC. The Product Manager will support the evolution and delivery of annuity products and retail platforms, working heavily with policy administration systems and cross-functional stakeholders to drive product execution and system enhancements. The Product Manager is a full-time direct placement role and is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week in Durham, NC. Responsibilities of the
Product Manager:
  • Define and manage product roadmap and execution for annuity and retail platform initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuarial, accounting, operations, data, and engineering
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions and actionable development plans
  • Manage backlog prioritization, ensuring balance between new features, technical debt, and operational needs
  • Support integrations across multiple systems, including policy administration platforms and downstream processes
  • Analyze data and system behavior to drive product decisions and improve operational efficiency Requirements of the
Product Manager:
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business systems analysis, or software delivery
  • Strong experience working with backend systems and policy administration platforms (FAST, Duck Creek, Guidewire preferred)
  • Ability to write and analyze SQL queries and pull data from databases
  • Experience in insurance, annuities, or financial services environments (non-healthcare preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field required Compensation for the
Product Manager:
  • $100,000 - $125,000, based on experience
