Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced furniture development engineer who sees furniture as a perfect harmony of structural integrity, premium craftsmanship, and industrial art? If you have a passion for upholstery engineering and the technical grit to optimize complex manufacturing processes, this is your chance to make a tangible impact on a premium brand.

Translate industrial design concepts into manufacturable engineering solutions. Develop and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials(BOMs). Ensure product designs meet structural integrity, ergonomic, durability, and manufacturability requirements. Specify materials including textiles, leather, foam, wood, metal, and hardware. Collaborate with design teams to maintain aesthetic intent while optimizing for production efficiency. Curate and maintain engineering drawing databases to ensure documentation is accurate and production ready. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Partner with production teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Develop work instructions, assembly guides, and technical documentation. Support implementation of automation and new manufacturing technologies where applicable. Maintain accurate BOMs and product data within ERP/MRP systems.
Key Qualifications:
5+ years in product development (manufacturing required; furniture a plus) Experience with wood, metal, foam, or upholstery materials Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) Able to create drawings, BOMs, and support production Comfortable working cross-functionally + on the production floor The essential functions of this role include:working in a smoke free environmentSkillsBranding/Product DevelopmentSolidworksAuto
