We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and customer-focused Product Line Manager - Footwear to lead our footwear category across our locations. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes running, understands the evolving footwear landscape, and has a talent for bringing products to life through storytelling, merchandising, and strategic vendor partnerships. Position Overview The Product Line Manager - Footwear will oversee the selection, presentation, and performance of all footwear categories within our stores. This individual will combine analytical thinking with a deep understanding of the running community to curate the best assortment of products for every type of customer we serve — from walkers to competitive marathoners. The ideal candidate is an active runner with a passion for specialty retail, trend awareness, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the footwear product category across all locations Curate a balanced and strategic footwear assortment that serves a wide range of customer needs and running goals Partner closely with footwear vendors and brand representatives to identify emerging trends, product opportunities, and key launches Use sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends to make informed inventory and assortment decisions Create compelling in-store footwear presentations through visual merchandising and storytelling Educate staff on footwear technologies, fit philosophies, and product differentiators Develop engaging product narratives that connect customers to the purpose and performance of each shoe Ensure footwear displays remain fresh, organized, and aligned with seasonal initiatives and brand standards Collaborate with data management and leadership on forecasting, product planning, and promotional strategies Represent the Fleet Feet culture through community involvement, events, and authentic engagement with runners and walkers What We're Looking For We are seeking someone who can combine: A runner's passion A merchant's eye A storyteller's creativity And a strategist's mindset This role plays a critical part in shaping the customer experience and ensuring our stores continue to offer the best footwear solutions for every individual who walks through our doors. Passion for running and an active participant in the running community Previous experience in retail buying, merchandising, inventory management, or product line management preferred Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales trends and customer behaviors Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work collaboratively with vendors, store leadership, and team members Strong visual merchandising instincts and attention to detail Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced retail environment Knowledge of performance footwear brands, fit philosophies, and industry trends preferred Available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Professional and timely internal and external communication
