Howell, NJ (100% Onsite) About Petit Clair Petit Clair is a growing children's apparel company known for timeless designs, exceptional quality, and a fast-paced product development environment. We develop hundreds of styles each season and are looking for an experienced Product Development Manager to ensure products move efficiently from concept through sample approval. This is a highly visible role that sits at the center of the product development process. You will serve as the key liaison between our U.S.-based team and overseas factories, ensuring that development stays on schedule and that issues are identified and resolved before they impact production timelines. The Opportunity Success in this role comes down to one simple idea: You are the person responsible for making sure nothing gets stuck. You will own the development process, proactively identifying roadblocks, coordinating communication across teams, and ensuring every style continues moving forward. Responsibilities Manage product development from sample request through final approval Serve as the primary point of contact between design, technical, production, and overseas factory partners Track development milestones and ensure deadlines are met Follow up proactively on outstanding factory questions, approvals, and revisions Coordinate sample reviews and communicate comments clearly and accurately Identify and resolve issues related to fabrics, trims, artwork, fit, construction, and production feasibility Maintain development calendars and monitor progress across hundreds of active styles Escalate potential delays and recommend solutions before timelines are impacted Drive accountability across internal and external partners to keep projects moving Continuously improve development processes to increase efficiency while maintaining product quality Qualifications 5+ years of experience in apparel product development, sourcing, merchandising, technical design, production, or factory management Strong understanding of the apparel development lifecycle Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors Exceptional project management and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through Self-starter who proactively solves problems and drives results Children's apparel experience is a plus What Success Looks Like Seasonal development timelines are consistently met Factory communication is efficient and responsive Development issues are identified and resolved quickly Sample approvals stay on track Hundreds of styles move through development without unnecessary delays This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating people, solving problems, and ensuring projects move from concept to reality.
