Job Description

Hudson Valley Lighting Group is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing, and omnichannel distribution of decorative and architectural lighting fixtures, encompassing six brands: Hudson Valley Lighting, Mitzi, Troy, Corbett, CSL, and Sonneman (on behalf of Hudson Valley Lighting, Inc., Troy-CSL, Inc., and SN Modern, LLC). We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer with a strong personal commitment to quality, a dedicated work ethic, and an upbeat, positive outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with all phases of product development, from brainstorming to production. Generate multiple possible solutions to engineering challenges, adapting as necessary for aesthetics. Create detailed CAD production/engineering drawings from 3D models, sketches, and verbal instructions. Create & maintain a bill of materials and product specs for all new products. Produce assembly instructions for all new products. Maintain all post-production product information for the record. Maintain CAD drawing library. Update CAD drawings for existing products when necessary. Other duties assigned as needed.
Position Requirements:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite. A bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred. An associate degree in CAD Technology, relevant work experience, or a related technical field is also acceptable. 7-10 years of experience in product engineering and new product development required, with a focus on lighting products, a strong plus. Must be able to travel abroad 2-3 times a year, potentially. Ability to effectively communicate in writing as well as verbally. Ability to apply engineering principles, methods, and best practices in a manufacturing environment. Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision, with a high attention to detail and quality. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, with engineers, designers, and manufacturers. Must be willing to learn and improve, and adapt to an evolving industry. A responsible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated attitude. Must be flexible and open-minded. Commute and work daily in our Wappingers Falls office. US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
