Full Job Description Food Manufacturing Company Greater Cincinnati, OH Area Salary:
$60,000 - $80,000 Job Summary A leading food manufacturer in the Greater Cincinnati area is seeking a Food Technologist to support the development and commercialization of further processed protein products, focusing primarily on chicken, beef, and pork. This role involves taking products from bench-top concepts to full-scale production, ensuring high standards for flavor, texture, and manufacturing efficiency. Job Responsibilities Support product development from concept to commercialization under the direction of R D leadership. Design and produce bench-top samples that accurately mimic large-scale production line capabilities. Assist in planning and executing product concept demonstrations for existing and potential clients. Provide physical, on-floor assistance during production line tests, commercialization runs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for continuous cost reduction of existing products while maintaining or enhancing overall quality. Utilize statistics to define physical product parameters and maintain accurate R D data and files. Qualifications B.S. in Food Science, Meat Science, or a related field (M.S. is a plus). Open to entry-level candidates; prior experience in further processed protein product development is not required. Theoretical knowledge of further food processing, equipment, and packaging. Strong analytical, organizational, and basic statistical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for direct customer and management interaction. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); bilingual skills are a plus. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as dictated by production test runs. Physical Requirements & Travel Ability to travel approximately 30%. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a refrigerated/cold environment.
