Systems Engineer (Product Manager)

The Boeing Company Boeing Talent Acquisition and the Boeing Global Services Government Training & Engineering (GT&E) E-7A Office of the Chief Engineer is currently seeking Systems Engineer (Product Manager) Mid-Level & Senior to join their team supporting United States Air Force E-7 Training Devices. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. As a subject matter expert in USAF Training Devices, the selected candidate will provide engineering leadership across multiple programs, serving as the primary point of contact for technical requirements review, risk assessment, issue resolution, and opportunity identification. The candidate will support both strategic continuous improvement initiatives and tactical day-to-day project execution to ensure successful delivery of training device programs. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships with government customers, contractors, and internal engineering teams. The candidate must be highly organized and agile to meet the dynamic needs of engineering leadership and program objectives. This position reports to the Chief Engineer within the BGS GT&E E-7
Team. Position Responsibilities:
Provide engineering leadership and subject matter expertise for USAF E-7
Training Device programs, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and program objectives. Develop and manage project approaches, track progress against detailed plans, and implement course corrections to address technical discrepancies or challenges. Lead risk, issue, and opportunity identification and mitigation efforts throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and manage Statements of Work (SOW) tailored to USAF training device projects, including scope, deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules. Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams including government customers, contractors, and internal engineering resources. Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with USAF training device certification processes and standards. Utilize Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel to manage schedules, present data, model processes, and analyze project performance. Monitor and report on performance metrics related to training device functionality, reliability, and maintainability. Ensure adherence to relevant military standards such as Distributed Missions Operations Network (DMON) and Joint Simulations Environment (JSE). Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and resources through negotiation with government stakeholders and contractors. Support earned value management (EVM) compliance and government contracting processes. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 3+ years of experience supporting the design, development, integration, or sustainment of USAF Rear Crew Training Devices or similar military aviation training systems, ideally Command & Control (C2) platforms Experience with the Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP) Experience developing project approaches, tracking progress against detailed plans, and implementing course corrections to resolve technical discrepancies or challenges Experience working with cross-functional teams including government customers, contractors, and internal engineering resources in a military or defense environment Experience with USAF training device requirements, certification processes, and compliance standards Experience utilizing industry standards / best practices to hold conversations and guide requirements development and verification activities (i.e. Model Based Systems Engineering) Proficiency in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel for project management and reporting Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 5 or more years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 4) Demonstrated leadership in guiding multi-disciplinary teams through complex USAF training device projects Strong negotiation skills to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and resources with government stakeholders and contractors Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining alignment with program goals and customer expectations Knowledge of government contracting processes and earned value management (EVM) compliance requirements related to defense acquisition programs Skilled in analyzing project performance against baseline plans and applying lessons learned to improve future outcomes Understanding of relevant military standards and regulations impacting training device development such as Distributed Missions Operations Network (DMON) or Joint Simulations Environment (JSE) standards Conversational knowledge of software development processes / practices Conflict of Interest:
