Key Priorities
Define competitive positioning for key initiatives, understanding where incumbents are vulnerable and where AFS can differentiate
Help craft an AI-first Product Management discipline (rewriting the Pat AFS in partnership with the incoming CPO
Own end-to-end scoping, requirements gathering, and delivery for one or more strategic product initiatives, translating complex client workflows into clear specs, aligned milestones, and shipped capabilities
Conduct rigorous research and analysis to identify the highest-value opportunities across the commercial lending lifecycle, including new workflows, user personas, lending products, or institution segments
Develop and maintain a detailed product roadmap with clear sequencing, dependencies, and measurable commercial and customer outcomes
Lead discovery with prospective and existing clients to validate hypotheses, prioritize problems worth solving, and define must-have capabilities
Establish product requirements and success metrics for initiatives: adoption and usage, client outcomes, operational efficiency, implementation scalability, retention/expansion impact, and revenue contribution (as applicable)
Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop clear messaging, packaging/pricing inputs, and go-to-market plans for new capabilities and releases
Work within the engineering pod structure to scope, spec, and ship capabilities, balancing speed to value with platform scalability and long-term maintainability
Build relationships with industry stakeholders, including prospective clients, industry groups, and domain experts, to deepen AFS's understanding of adjacent market needs What This Role Is Accountable For Market Expansion Strategy
Own the product strategy for major initiatives, identifying where AFS should invest next and defining what it takes to win
Develop deep expertise in the operational workflows, regulatory requirements, and technology landscape across the parts of the commercial lending lifecycle relevant to assigned initiatives
Build business cases for initiatives, quantifying customer impact, market dynamics (where relevant), investment requirements, risks, and expected return
Translate opportunities and problems into concrete product requirements and a sequenced delivery roadmap
Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner options for capabilities required to deliver the roadmap Client Discovery and Market Intelligence
Lead ongoing client and prospect research to validate hypotheses and continuously refine priorities and the roadmap
Develop relationships with early-adopter institutions willing to pilot and iterate on new capabilities
Monitor competitive capabilities and market positioning across relevant platforms and point solutions in commercial lending and adjacent workflows
Inform pricing and packaging strategy for new capabilities, determining bundling, tiering, and premium positioning Product Execution
Define requirements, write detailed specifications, and drive features from concept through launch
Prioritize ruthlessly. Ship what opens markets and drives commercial outcomes, not what's technically interesting
Own the quality bar for new capabilities: functional completeness, regulatory alignment, and client readiness
Work within the engineering pod structure, collaborating directly with developers and designers in tight iteration cycles
Write clear, actionable specs that engineering teams can execute against with minimal ambiguity Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with Sales and the CRO to ensure product capabilities align with commercial strategy, pipeline development, and revenue targets
Collaborate with Professional Services and Implementation teams on deployment readiness, change management, and scalable rollout for new capabilities
Work with the CTO on architecture and infrastructure decisions that support platform scalability, reliability, and extensibility
Contribute product perspective to executive leadership on timing, sequencing, trade-offs, and investment priorities across major initiatives Ideal Candidate Profile Experience
7+ years in product management, with significant experience in commercial banking, lending technology, or financial infrastructure software
Deep domain knowledge of the commercial loan lifecycle, including origination, underwriting, closing, servicing, portfolio management, and related operational workflows. Direct experience with commercial lending operations, loan administration, or lending technology platforms is strongly preferred
Experience building or managing products across multiple commercial lending products, workflows, or user personas (e.g., C&I, CRE, asset-based lending, SBA, servicing, collateral, covenant, or other related workflows)
Track record of delivering high-impact product outcomes, such as launching new capabilities, improving core workflows, modernizing platforms, enabling integrations, or expanding a product's market reach
Experience in PE-backed, high-growth, or enterprise B2B SaaS environments where speed and commercial impact are expected
Fintech or consumer banking experience will be considered, but commercial lending depth is strongly preferred Capabilities

Strong commercial acumen; ability to size markets, build business cases, and connect product decisions to revenue outcomes
Strong technical literacy; able to engage credibly with engineers on architecture, data models, and integration patterns without being an engineer
