BAE Systems Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) product line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area is looking for a Technical Director (TD) to join the PGSS product line team. The PGSS TD is the technical leader for the product line, ensuring the technology needs for current and future programs are being met. The TD will achieve this by leveraging cross-functional technology from across the business, identifying technology gaps, and developing the strategy and plans to fill these gaps. The PGSS TD will work across the product line portfolio, including Aviation Weapons, Strategic Missiles and Market Expansion, developing cross-product line strategies to meet business objectives. In this role the TD interacts with customers, program leadership and business development to understand needs and shape future plans.

Key responsibilities include:

• Technical Strategy & Vision
• : Developing and championing a technical strategy aligned with market opportunities and evolving customer needs. This includes identifying technology gaps and creating plans to fill them. +

• Roadmap Development:

• Defining and maintaining technology and product roadmaps informed by competitor assessments, customer roadmaps, and deep mission understanding. The TD will champion strategic internal investments, including Internal Research and Development (IRAD), and will collaborate with the BAE Systems technology development organization (FAST Labs) to transition relevant technology to meet these needs. +
• Customer & Business Engagement
• : Interacting with customers to understand their needs and shape future plans. The TD supports new business campaigns and provides technical leadership for proposal development, including RFIs, RFPs, and white papers. +
• Technical Oversight
• : Providing technical governance and oversight to ensure solutions remain consistent with program objectives and leading technical assessments for high-interest programs.

The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader with in-depth domain knowledge, good communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across the product line and business. Experience with precision guided munition technology is highly desired.

• Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• + Bachelors degree in engineering or related field, plus a minimum of 12 years experience. + Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams + Experience with RF and EO/IR technologies, particularly for seekers + Experience developing and maintaining product and/or technology roadmaps and strategies + Active secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
• Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
• + Master degree in engineering or related field + Experience with research and development programs, including technology transition and maturation + Experience with all phases of product development, including research, proposals, contract execution, and deployment.

+ Experience with model based system engineering (MBSE), model based engineering (MBE), or other digital engineering tools + Active Top Secret level clearance

Full-Time Salary Range:

$173023 - $294137 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
