Job Title:
Product Developer Job Description The Product Developer is responsible for leading the research, design, development, and launch of new products and product improvements. This role bridges creativity, technical execution, and business strategy to deliver products that meet customer needs, quality standards, cost targets, and timeline requirements. The Product Developer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end product development from concept through commercialization. Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform product strategy. Translate customer and business requirements into product specifications and prototypes. Collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to refine products. Manage product specifications, bills of materials, formulations, or technical drawings as applicable. Coordinate prototype development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting. Evaluate materials, suppliers, and manufacturing capabilities to meet cost and quality targets. Support pilot runs, scale-up, and production readiness activities. Ensure products comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards. Track and manage product development timelines, risks, and deliverables. Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products. Essential Skills Engineering New product development Product development life cycle Food science Formulations Product lifecycle management Food industry experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Product Development, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design, Food Science, or a related field. 2-5+ years of experience in product development, new product introduction (NPI), or related roles. Strong understanding of product lifecycle management. Experience working in cross-functional team environments. Proficiency in documentation tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office. Work Environment There are roughly 400 employees at the East Hanover site, and most work a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week onsite and remote options on Mondays and Fridays. The candidate must be local to East Hanover to come onsite. Additionally, the company offers free lunch for all employees and consultants from Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of East Hanover, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
