POSITION OVERVIEW
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) owns the full product lifecycle of ZAVTEK's RTPM platform. This is a hybrid role sitting at the intersection of technology, operations, and customer success. The TPM translates field intelligence from technicians, account managers, and managed service customers into a prioritized product roadmap — then works directly with engineering and data partners to execute it. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with IoT or industrial monitoring platforms, a clear understanding of managed services business models, and a working knowledge of critical power equipment including UPS systems, battery strings, PDUs, and static transfer switches.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy & Roadmap Define andmaintainthe RTPM product roadmap, balancing near-term customer needs with long-term platform scalability. Establish product vision, success metrics (KPIs), and release milestones in collaboration with leadership. Conduct competitive analysis of monitoring and managed services platforms;identifydifferentiation opportunities for ZAVTEK. Translate field feedback from technicians, account managers, and customers into structured product requirements. Platform Development Oversight Author detailed product requirement documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams. Own backlog grooming and sprint prioritization in collaboration with development leads. Define API and integration requirements for device-side data collection (SNMP, Modbus
TCP/RTU, REST/JSON
) and cloud ingestion pipelines. Drive theclientdashboard experience — defining data visualizations, alert logic, trend views, and report templates. Oversee QA and user acceptance testing processes;validatethat released features meet field requirements. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the internal product authority — the primary liaison between engineering, field operations, sales, and account management. Partner with account managers to support customer onboarding, platform demonstrations, and ongoing service reviews. Gather voice-of-customer (VOC) data through site visits, customer interviews, and service ticket analysis. Develop internal and customer-facing product documentation, training materials, and release notes. Managed Services Alignment Ensure the RTPM platform supports and enhances ZAVTEK's managed services delivery model — including condition-based PM dispatch, remote triage, and automated reporting. Define and refine SLA frameworks and alert escalation logic within the platform. Work with the operations team toestablishfulfillment workflows triggered by platform-generated events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years in a technical or IoT/industrial monitoring context. Demonstrated experience managing the full product lifecycle from concept through launch and iteration. Working knowledge of device communication protocols — particularly SNMP (v2c/v3), Modbus TCP/RTU, and REST APIs. Familiarity with cloud platform architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and SaaS delivery models. Experience with or exposure to managed services environments —understanding ofhow MSPs deliver, bill, and support recurring service contracts.
Knowledge of critical power infrastructure:
UPS systems (single- and three-phase), battery monitoring, PDUs, or STS units preferred. Proficiencywith product management tooling (Jira, Confluence,Productboard, or equivalent). Strong technical writing skills — able to produce clear PRDs, user stories, and specifications independently. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, ora relatedfieldrequired; MBA or equivalenta plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Grafana, Tableau, or similar) used in operational dashboards. Background in or exposure to facilities, datacenter, or critical infrastructure industries. PMP, CSPO, or equivalent product/project management certification. Familiarity with UPS MIB standards (RFC 1628) and SNMP trap handling. Experience supporting sales teams in SaaS ormanaged servicesproduct demonstrations.
