Job Description:
Director (Manager) Power BI / Analytics Development Contract to hire Former hands-on dev turned technical leader Pay rate: $85/hr to $95/hr
Salary:
$117K to $150K plus bonus 20%
Hybrid:
3 days per week in office
Location:
Open to Chicago, Dallas, or Denver offices (should already be local to one of these cities and able to come to office 3 days per week We are seeking a Lead Power BI/Analytics Development Director/Manager to guide a growing analytics team through rapid transformation and increased delivery demand. This role suits a former hands-on developer turned technical leader who can drive best practices, delivery, and team enablement. You'll help bring structure and consistency while supporting high-impact, enterprise initiatives. While not a traditional people management role, it carries strong influence over delivery quality, development standards, and cross-functional alignment. Required Qualifications Power BI/Power Apps development, including leadership experience Hands-on Power BI and analytics/reporting development Leading or mentoring development teams Strong SQL skills for querying, transformation, and validation Solid understanding of SDLC and development best practices Expertise in data modeling and database design (star schema, fact/dimension tables, relationships, keys) Experience building reusable semantic layers and data models Knowledge of BI governance, KPI standardization, and data quality practices Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (CRM) Exposure to Salesforce-to-Dynamics migrations Experience with Databricks or similar platforms Knowledge of data pipeline scalability and performance optimization
