Summary/objective:
Angel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our Scalable Filmmakers team. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of product strategies that drive engagement, growth, and filmmaker satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, voting, and data analytics, to deliver exceptional experiences that attract and support filmmakers around the globe. Essential functions Balance your strong instinct with a culture of hypothesis testing, measurement, and velocity to learn and improve the products you own Balance both the big-picture vision for attracting filmmakers at scale and the execution details with all the cross-functional teams involved. Connect weekly with users and their needs, and express them through products, tools, and IRL experiences that enhance their lives and fulfill needs aligned with company goals. Brainstorm with our users, engineers, product designers, and stakeholders, to understand what they want, figure out what they really need, and finally, what we should build. Prioritizing to avoid what is nice-to-have in favor of what is important to achieving company and filmmaker goals. Drive the overall success of the product from brainstorming through final execution and maintenance across various platforms and environments. Specifying and overseeing the research needed to determine the needs and desires of customers Help oversee the design, structure, implementation, and planning of how to market and promote the product to the public Have a skilled eye for aesthetics and have a track record of making something beautiful. Our filmmakers have discerning tastes and need support. Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in the English language required. Additional language proficiency is a plus. An exceptional listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Linear, and Claude. Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details. Organization and time management. Able to maintain confidentiality of information. Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions. Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity. Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office. Can take feedback on tasks and assignments positively and create better solutions. A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs. Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives. Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver best-in-class solutions with minimal guidance. Acknowledge your mistakes, learn from them, and keep moving forward. You have a good balance of technical depth and business savvy and can command respect from both engineers and business leaders. You have the tenacity and leadership experience to help you influence, lead, and organize complex projects. Expertise in the product or market, including specific technical or industry knowledge. Ability to take individual ownership, execute with high energy, share context, and insist on candor with positive intent.
Work environment:
When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy. Physical demands - Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for prolonged periods of time Position type and expected hours of work - Regular full-time, 40 hours per week. Travel required - Occasional travel when necessary to meet with filmmakers Required education and experience 5+ years of experience building software 3+ years of experience in a product manager role Ability to incorporate data, research, and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps Experience with A/B testing and product experimentation. Experience with connecting with users, interviewing to build solutions for them. Preferred education and experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Experience running multiple A/B tests per week Experience working on a consumer web platform Work authorization - Must be authorized to work in the United States.
