DESCRIPTION B2B
Books is building a brand-new service that lets public and School libraries skip hours of manual processing and put new books straight on the shelf. We're looking for a product manager to build it from scratch and grow it into a scaled, profitable business. Today, libraries spend time and money getting books ready to circulate — cataloging them, labeling them, adding protective covers. Our service does all of that before the books ever arrive. This is a true start-from-scratch role: you'll launch the first pilot, prove it works for libraries and pays for itself, then scale it across the country. You'll spend your time with the B2B customers figuring out what they actually need, work side by side with our operations and fulfillment teams to make it happen, and decide what to do by hand, what to automate, and when. You own the outcome — the whole business, not just a feature. Key job responsibilities Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for the service — define the problem, the experience libraries should have, and the multi-year vision, and deliver against it with limited guidance. Launch and run the first pilot with operations and fulfillment teams, prove it works for libraries and earns its keep, then scale it into a nationwide offering. Own the path to profitability — model the unit economics, set pricing, and decide what to build, buy, or automate as volume grows. Be the voice of the library customer and align operations, fulfillment, engineering, finance, and legal teams around one plan, building consensus and escalating the right issues at the right time. About the team You will be joining Amazon's fast-paced B2B Books team. We are a Biztech team, responsible for driving growth within the institutional and enterprise book customer segments. As part of this team, you will work alongside tech leaders, engineering, sales managers, and cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions to our B2B clients. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on Amazon's B2B book business while leveraging Amazon's scale, technology, and resources.
