Job Description
Description We're seeking an experienced Product Manager to own delivery promise quality across Zappos' distinct business marketplaces. In this role, you will ensure customers receive consistent delivery speed by identifying promise anomalies, diagnosing root causes, and driving product solutions that improve promise quality and reliability. Your insights will inform strategic improvements across inventory placement, operations, and transportation that enhance delivery speed. You will own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for promise quality, working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, technology, and operations teams. This position requires strong product vision, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate in ambiguity while managing multiple complex priorities. Key job responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for promise quality across Zappos' distinct business marketplaces, serving as the primary point of contact for delivery speed consistency
- Identify opportunities to improve promise quality by analyzing performance data, understanding drivers of promise deviations, and translating insights into product solutions
- Influence cross-functional teams on strategic improvements to inventory placement, operations, and transportation based on promise quality insights
- Exercise judgment prioritizing between competing initiatives based on customer impact, business value, and operational feasibility across each marketplace
- Work with technology and engineering teams to develop monitoring capabilities and predictive frameworks that identify promise anomalies and anticipate operational impacts
- Drive product solutions for systemic promise issues across inventory placement, ship optimization, promise orchestration, and outbound transportation—resolving data quality and system constraints that prevent optimal speed generation
- Establish metrics and KPIs for promise quality, developing mechanisms to track trends, quantify business impact, and measure product effectiveness
- Provide clear direction to engineering, technology, operations, and senior leadership stakeholders regarding product vision, performance insights, and recommendations
- Partner with marketing and customer experience teams to define features that communicate delivery expectations effectively
- Design scalable mechanisms for ongoing delivery speed health monitoring and continuous improvement A day in the life You'll spend your day reviewing delivery speed performance data to identify anomalies and understand their drivers, work with technology teams to uncover patterns and trends, and meet with engineering teams to define monitoring and alerting capabilities.
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
