JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY WPI
is seeking exceptional Post-Doctoral Fellow candidates to join an interdisciplinary team developing the next generation of sustainable packaging.
JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct independent and collaborative research and prepare peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and technical reports to disseminate research findings. Contribute to the development of research proposals, including literature review, preliminary results, and methodological descriptions. Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external research partners in an interdisciplinary research environment. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to graduate and undergraduate researchers, as appropriate. Maintain well-documented research methods, workflows, and data, following best practices for reproducibility and research integrity.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet all the following minimum qualifications to be considered: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field, completed by the start date of the appointment. Demonstrated research experience in experimental design, materials fabrication and characterization techniques (including but not limited to thin film coating techniques, contact angle measurements, IR, Raman, XPS, SEM, XRD) as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, dissertation research, or prior postdoctoral or doctoral work. Experience conducting independent research, including model development, data analysis, and interpretation of results. Ability to communicate research results effectively, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, conference presentations, or written research statements. Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
COMPENSATION
Salary:
$50,000 based on related experience.
