Job Description

SEO Specialist — Basil Family Dealerships Full Time- Hybrid | Buffalo, NY (local candidates preferred)
Pay:
$60,000 - $75,000 annually Basil Family Dealerships is one of Western New York's most established and respected automotive dealer groups, with over 40 years serving the region with multiple brands and rooftops across the area. Our in-house marketing team — Basil Marketing Group (BMG), drives digital strategy, content, and customer experience across all our dealerships. We focus on delivering high-quality digital experiences to our customers while providing our team members with opportunities for growth, ownership, and impact. The Opportunity We are seeking a talented SEO Specialist to join BMG and take ownership of Basil's organic search strategy. This role is hands-on, high-impact, and forward-thinking, focusing on: Traditional SEO Local and multi-location optimization AI-driven search and answer engine optimization (AIO/AEO) Vehicle Detail Page (VDP) and inventory page SEO You'll work across all brands and rooftops, collaborate with the marketing and leadership teams, and make a direct impact on traffic, leads, and sales.
What You'll Do:
Develop and execute SEO strategy for all Basil brands and locations Manage and optimize Google Business Profile listings across multiple dealerships Optimize Vehicle Detail Pages, inventory pages, and content for local search and AI-driven results Perform technical SEO audits, implement schema and structured data, and fix crawl/indexing issues Drive AIO/AEO initiatives including voice search, featured snippets, and zero-click optimization Monitor performance with tools like SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and provide actionable reporting Collaborate with content and creative teams on keyword strategy, content creation, and metadata optimization
What We're Looking For:
3+ years of experience in SEO or a related digital marketing role Strong understanding of local SEO, Google Business Profile management, and search algorithm fundamentals Hands-on experience with SEO tools: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Search Console, Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and optimizing content for AI search (AIO/AEO) Basic understanding of HTML and CSS platforms Experience optimizing for lead generation and conversion (not just traffic) Strong communication skills and ability to translate SEO strategy into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders Exposure to emerging search trends such as AI optimization (AIO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), AI-generated results, and voice search Collaborative mindset and curiosity about emerging search technologies Experience in automotive or multi-location businesses is a plus, but not required
