This is currently a part-time / ad-hoc role but could increase in hours or become more long-term as projects develop. This role is fully remote.
The Freelance SEO Strategist will:
Own and execute SEO strategies across healthcare clients from audit through optimization Lead audits across technical SEO, content, keywords, and structured data Optimize for AI-driven search (AI Overviews, AEO, GEO) and evolving discoverability channels Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis (traditional + conversational) Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations using SEO tools (GSC, GA4, Semrush, Ahrefs) Collaborate with content, UX, dev, and analytics teams Present insights and performance updates to stakeholders Monitor search trends, algorithm updates, and AI-driven shifts, adjusting strategy as needed Mentor junior team members and improve workflows The Freelance SEO Strategist has: 4+ years of SEO experience, ideally in agency or multi-client environments Strong expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and performance optimization Understanding of AI-driven search and emerging discovery platforms Advanced analytical skills with ability to prioritize and drive insights Proficiency with SEO tools (GSC, GA4, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog) Knowledge of E-E-A-T and healthcare/regulatory content standards preferred Experience integrating SEO into web, CMS, and content workflows Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts simply Self-starter with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
