This role is ideal for someone who understands that SEO is no longer limited to keywords and Google rankings. Today's search landscape includes technical website performance, content strategy, local listings, reviews, AI overviews, third-party platforms, and the many places people go to find answers. Who We're Looking For You're a strategic, detail-oriented SEO professional who knows how to look under the hood of a website, identify opportunities, and explain what matters in a way clients can understand. You are comfortable using SEO tools, reviewing analytics, creating keyword strategies, identifying content opportunities, managing local listings, and preparing reports that go beyond numbers. You know how to answer the client's real question: What does this mean, and what should we do next? You're curious, analytical, and collaborative. You can work closely with account managers, writers, designers, developers, and clients to make sure SEO strategy is integrated into websites, campaigns, content plans, and reporting. You are confident enough to make recommendations, humble enough to keep learning, and clear enough to help clients make informed decisions. What The Job Involves The SEO Strategist will help Red Orange Studio clients improve organic visibility, website performance, local search presence, and content effectiveness.
Responsibilities include:
SEO Strategy & Keyword Research

- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for website content, blog topics, landing pages, service pages, and location-based content.
- Evaluate search intent across the customer journey, including branded searches, service-based searches, high-intent local searches, and educational queries.
- Translate keyword findings into practical recommendations for website structure, content planning, page optimization, and campaign support.
- Collaborate with account managers and content creators to generate content ideas that are grounded in search behavior and client strategy. Technical SEO & Website Optimization
- Conduct technical SEO audits to identify crawlability issues, broken links, redirects, mobile performance concerns, page speed issues, indexing problems, duplicate content, and other barriers to search visibility.
- Review website structure, metadata, title tags, heading tags, internal linking, URL structure, and page hierarchy.
- Partner with Red Orange's web team to ensure websites are built and maintained using SEO best practices.
- Provide SEO guidance during website redesigns, migrations, launches, and content restructures.
- Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Conductor, or similar platforms to evaluate performance and opportunities. On-Page SEO & Content Recommendations

- Ensure content recommendations balance search performance with brand voice, accessibility, readability, and conversion goals. Local SEO, Listings & Reputation Signals
- Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles and other local business listings.
- Support consistency of name, address, phone number, business descriptions, hours, photos, service categories, and profile information across directory platforms.
- Identify gaps in major and niche directories, including platforms such as Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, Nextdoor, MapQuest, and other industry-relevant listings.
- Monitor listings for duplicate profiles, incorrect information, customer-suggested edits, missing details, and brand consistency issues.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen a client's visibility across credible third-party sources, social platforms, directories, review sites, and content ecosystems.
- Understand how strong website content, technical performance, reviews, third-party mentions, and structured information can contribute to broader digital visibility.
- Stay current on changes in search behavior, AI search, Google algorithm updates, and SEO best practices. Reporting, Insights & Client Communication

- Analyze organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversions, search visibility, local performance, content performance, technical health, and other relevant metrics.
- Go beyond data collection to explain what changed, why it matters, and what should happen next.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients in a confident, approachable, non-technical way.
- Collaborate with account managers to connect SEO insights to broader marketing priorities, campaign performance, website updates, and client goals. Qualifications
