Exempt Description The primary functions of this tenured-tracked faculty position are to teach courses in Digital Media and align it with industry/professional and state framework standards; advise students in Digital Media and related majors. Examples of Duties Pursuant to Manual of Policy 6.017, this is a full-time instructional position requiring a minimum of 35 hours professional service to include a teaching load of 15 credit hours, and/or 18-24 contact hours 10 posted office hours, and up to 10 additional hours each weekforpositionresponsibilities,internalservicetothecollege,communityservice,and leadershipresponsibilities. EnsureprogramalignmentandcompliancewithFLDOEcurriculumframework;GCSC StrategicPlanandcollegepolicies. Workwithotherfacultymemberstocoordinate,evaluateandrecommendprogram updates andchanges. Design,update,revise,andmaintaincurriculum,includingcoursedesignandlabs,when applicable,forface-to-face,hybrid,anddistancelearningmodalities Identifyandmentoradjunctinstructors Coordinatewithotherfacultytodevelopcourseschedulesforeachsemester Provideacademicadvisingguidancetostudentsregardingcourseselection,scheduling, anddegreecompletion/graduationrequirements Plan and coordinate recruiting events for digital media programs and participate in college-wide recruiting events. Participate in K-12 program advisory committees and other projects/events to build a collaborative relationship to establish a pipeline of students into our programs. Office hours are for helping students with lecture material and lab work outside of class, reading, and returning emails, returning phone calls and academic advising. Other professional duties include; but not limited to: writing and grading tests, preparing for labs, looking for ways to improve delivery in class, updating course information on our course management system, preparing for committee meetings, attending committee meetings, and helping adjuncts with course related problems Develop partnerships with local agencies pertinent to programs. Attend professional development training, workshops, and seminars Maintain memberships/participate in professional organizations to stay abreast of best practices within the field Develop articulation with universities for student transfer Attend and participate in planning meetings, department meetings and administrative meetings Other duties assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, film, television/communications, studio art, graphic art/design, animation, audio/radio broadcasting, or related electronic media field from an institutional accredited college or university with industry experience relevant to the Digital Media program requirements. or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Digital Media, film, television/ communications, studio art, graphic art/ design, animation, audio/radio broadcasting, or related electronic media field from an institutional accredited college or university.
